i have studied all available sources and know about the basics of egr deactivation smile.gif but i still have some questions:

1. is it sufficient for deactivation to just cut and block the hose between actuator and egr-valve? or do i have to use those block plates some shops are selling?

2. there are people saying that a non-functioning egr can destroy the cat (burning caused by too high temperatures). is that true with the metal cat on my st205?

I didn't realize that Euro ST205's had an EGR system.

agreed, what EGR?

And the problems with EGR is that on OBDII or later cars, the failure of the EGR system will set your fuel maps to a defualt, "limp" mode, and so more creative means to fake the ECU are required.

no, doesn't have anything to do with the vsv!

since uk-celicas are jdm-imports they might not have an egr - at least japanese models don't have one!

german models have egr and i would like to cut it off because the engine should run smoother and cleaner without it.
