Sounds like a good idea to me. I can't pitch in though because my site already cost me enough each month anyways. I could host some pics and vids for some people though,if would help out.

how much are you currently paying?

I think we could raise 100 bucks as a forum to pay for hosting for a year with 50gb a month that would give us quite a bit leftover for image hosting

ok guys Im gonna start this project under way i am gonna go with the plan of

$100/year (or $108.95/year with domain registration)
Disk Space: 500 MB
Server Transfer: 45 GB (46,060 MB)
Email Accounts: 250
Sub Domains: 50
MySQL Databases: 25
Add-on Domains: 5
Parked Domains: 10

any suggestions on a domain name?

my paypal addy is infamousworldwide@hotmail.com , I will contribute all I can as soon as I pay my ticket+my lawyer this week

or I dont know if its possible but to save on buying a domain could we use something like uploader.6gc.net and have that use the bandwidth we purchase?

btw it looks as if we might even be able to host videos using this bandwidth as well , 46 gigs is a lot of bandwidth if the site only uses 25

coomer let me know if you would want to switch the site to this server to save on costs or anything or if its just gonna be a dedicated uploader for the forum members

edit: it will be hosted at www.ipaska.com , a very reputable hosting service, I am a member of www.genmay.com and we are the third biggest vbulliten forum and we use thatfor our uploading needs

i am also going to use an uploader similar to www.iupload.com

I think I'd rather keep the site where it's at now, at least for a bit. Thanks for the kind offers though. smile.gif

If you setup your server just to store photos and videos and stuff, if you'd like, I can write up some custom .htaccess files so that the photos can only be loaded on some websites(Like how 6G Celicas doesn't allow other sites to link to the photos in their <img> tags.) I'm not sure if you'd want that, but let me know if you do.

oh yeah definitly that would be nice

so basically that would prevent people from using it to host personal things and link to their friends or use it for other forums , etc
