i used to get 25mpg, about the same as Forkee. but that was all city driving for me.
im sure if i had used a smaller turbo, gas milage would have been lower. oh and btw, i am still getting 25mpg, damn new engine break in period when i first got the car back i was getting 19mpg! Stop complaining, this is what I pay for my 3GSE which returns about 310 miles to a full tank.
Regular Unleaded: £0.79 = $1.40 per litre £2.99 = $5.30 per gallon Full 60 Litre tank: £47.40 = $83.98 Premium (which I prefer): £0.86 = $1.52 per litre £3.25 = $5.76 per gallon Full 60 Litre tank: £51.60 = $91.42 You yanks have it cheap. |

It's true, we do have it cheap- but thats because our president likes guns and likes to use guns. I don't agree with it, but it certainly keeps gas prices down (Of course, here in CA I pay 2.29...

Hey, I'm only getting 25 mpg and I do not have forced induction. I've been getting only like 280 miles to a tank of gas. I mostly do city driving. What could be causing it? I know I've gotten over 400 miles to a tank on the highway before. I bought my car used and I've never had it tuned up (plugs or wires), only an air filter.

Man I get horrible mileage with my 95 st auto, compared to what you guys are saying. I fill it full and only get about 200 miles before I'm at or below a quarter tank. I should really be getting more than that. Any ideas what could be causing it? It's all city miles, by the way. |

but one tank full in the UK can take you pretty much across the country and back with plenty to spare, depending on the direction you take. i have to drive close to 300 miles to get to the next nearest state. i have to drive 50 miles to get to the middle of LA. i have to drive 10 miles to get to the nearest freeway our gas may be cheaper, but we have to drive further to get to places, so it kind of evens out btw, i pay $2.20 per gallon and drive atleast 30 miles a day. in the past 4 days i drove 300 miles(on one of my 6 cars, im sure there is another 50 miles that i drove in the other cars) This post has been edited by 97sccelica: Apr 24, 2004 - 3:58 AM -------------------- 1994 Celica GT4 WRC Edition

I get about 340-370 miles per fill up, but about half of it is city driving.
Bad gas mileage can be caused by alot of things, your tires, alignment, bad plugs, wires, dirty air filter. |

Have a look at a map. the UK may be small compared with the US but it depends on where you live as to how much driving you have to do. I drive a 48 mile round trip to work and its 15 miles to the nearest motorway. In heavy traffic it taks me 55 minutes to drive 10 miles into the nearest city. I have to travel about 280 miles per week just to do my job - thats $84 per week on fuel. On top of that its about $285 per year to tax a car. Public transport is non-existant, congestion makes even short journeys almost impossible, fuel is extornionate - welcome to Blair's Britian. You'll have to do better if you want to persuade me that the US has it just as bad when it comes to the cost of running a car. |

expect to pay a lot more for gas if you get a turbo because you will have to use premium gas.
