Does anyone have this problem. The car runs smooth but, when the A/C comes on the RPMs drop from 900-600 at idle. I also notice that i have to get on my gas alot harder when the A/C is on. On the highway, when the A/C starts i feel the pull. Does anyone have any idea what might be causing this? confused.gif

AC definately hits performance. Car will also idle a bit lower. Every small car in the world suffers this problem. smile.gif

My car does the same thing! When I got in '01 it was fine, but the last year its been idling rough whenever the air is on, and sometimes it nearly kills. Yes, you will lose power with a/c, but it shouldn't affect the idle.

I am having an all-around problem with high idle and hard to start when warm, and someone suggested it might be the oxygen sensor. My car is currently at the mechanic's; I will let you know what they found out if it involves rough idle and a/c.
