What is the biggest wheel I can put on my celica. All of these car shops are telling me that I can go 18x8 with a 40 mm offset. That is a 235/35/18 I believe. I want to go 19x7.5. What is the biggest wheel you guys have on your cars.

i think it will depend on how much lower your car is then stock.
at least one or 2 members on this site have 19s, so i dont see why that wouldnt fit.

why do you want to go with 19s? for better traction with the 3sgte?

The celica has a huge wheel well. I just want to fill it up as much as I can. I don't know how much room there is on the inside of the fender well though. I just got my car painted, so I don't want to scrape the fenders or brand new tires for that matter. For you guys that replied that have 19's,,,,do you scrape anything when you turn? And how much clearance do you have on the inside of the wheel by the strut? How much clearance do you have with the fender?

just got my 19's on with 35 offset. Not to bad with sticking out. Actually makes the car look like it has a wide body... but not sticking out like lowrider style... just nice. I will have to get wider mudflaps though. If you do 19's... you will have to do suspension too. The 19s put my car in the air about an inch. You wont have a problem with the front rims. I can turn all of the way around. As long as you have 225's... you'll be fine. Its the rear that is the problem. Wide doesn't matter... 265's will fit... but once you drop it, you might bottom out a little when you hit big drops in the rear. Hope this helps.

oh.... and 19's LOOK BADASS!

Here is my stats:
19" x 8.5 rims front and back ADR Emotions
front: 225/35/19 Toyo Proxes4
(these are a bit stretched... but still fit- Find 19x8 if possible)
rear: 245/35/19 Toyo Proxes4
(these look GREAT! and fit a 8.5 rim perfect - ... the car does look like a supra)

Here is GT4's stats:
19"x8 in front and 19"x9 in rear
225/35/19 in front
265/30/19 in rear... I cant wait to see the pictures

here is the PM between me and GT4 (the person who helped me out)
....................................................................................................
thanks. Yeah, I have no roblem turning at all...no rubbing whatsoever. Actually, I need to update that (the 245 tire stuff). I have a set of 265/30/19 sitting here waiting to go on. The 265's are gonna look a lot wider and have the same outer diameter as the tires I have on now. Being that the rear wheels are 9 inch wide...the current 235's are a little bit stretched...the rears really need the wider tires. Right now, with the wider rim in the back and the huge rear lip...everyone thinks it looks like a Supra. As far as cost, well its gonna be hard to get wheels with staggered widths and still be relatively cheap. You can, but its gonna be a hard search. I wanted the rears wider than the fronts with a nice chromed lip (wider in the rear of course)...I only was able to find these and a couple more. For 2000 bucks...you could do it just search well...

GT-4,
Beautiful machine(s) you have. I'm impressed. I'm assuming since its a daily driver that you turn alright. Also are you going to put 245's on the back. And again, are there any good rim companies in American that make 5x100 with such a lip. I love the rims... but i'm pretty sure they weren't too cheap. I have some money I want to put into the car, but I cant justify more than 2000 in rims and tires. Thanks again GT-4, your a big help.

Hey GT-4,
Coomer told me you have 19" rims on your car. Do they drive alright, meaning the ability to turn. Also, what size did you use on offset and tire size... i'm assuming 215/35R19. I wouldn't mind a wider tire if they can fit. Please send a message back. Thanks. Also, if you have a picture I'd greatly appricate it. Thanks again.

225/35/19 in the front and 235/35/19 in the rears./ Go to my website here My Webpage

and go to project daily driver...many pics there...

you have to remember that with 19s your ride quality will probably suck. you can always fill in the wheel well by doing bigger tires. for 17x7s get something like a 215-45 tire. for 18x8 i would do 225-40.

the largest problem with rims on the celica is that 7in wide rims just dont look good on our cars. you need at least 8in all around or 8 in front and 8.5-9in rear.

I'll put pics up tonight. I only have the ones without my drop (TEIN 1.5 front / 1 in rear). Also... Ice.... I checked out Monroe... I dont think its a full 3 inches. That looks at max of a 1.5" drop all the way around.

AGAIN for 19" people... max drop in 1.5 all the way around. I went 1" because I dont want the back to bottom out on every bump.

I dunno about those. I think they look to big for the car. I like the way they look on the GT4, so maybe you just need a kit to compliment them. I'm sure the drop will help though.
