Hey, just put on my 19's. Running 225/35 in front and 245/35 in rear. Obviously it boosted my car about an inch in the air if not more. Its time to drop the car now. I hear alot about the KYB struts and Koni Yellows. Koni seems to be really expensive and i'm not track racing the car so I dont care about cornering all that much. As for springs... most of you seem to go after the sportlines. However, I'm a little worried about the 1.5 inch drop in the rear. I saw a place I can buy dropzone coilovers, which would be great. However, Im unsure of the quality. Which would be the best all around setup for the car. Remember, I'M NOT RACING! I just wanna go down the street a little lower than now. And as for bushings and boots, I dont know how to tell if they are bad. My car has a little over 100k miles. Its a 97. What is typical. Thanks again for the help guys.

koni yellows are great shocks as i have heard. thats why im going to get a set, and for the drop, you can look at tien springs. they drop the front a little more than the rear.

I would say just go with the sportlines.. I love them, and i havnt heard a single bad thing about them.. and if you dont want a 1.5" drop go with the pros.. its only 1" But sence you have such big rims.. i would say you want at leats 1.5 .. Witch i would say i got more about 1.8 with mine.. Also Just get the kyb's there great.. My car handles nice.. and cruises.. The konis I would say are worthless unless your going to really be autocrossing.. also your going to have to get the rears welded.. The kyb's are just complete replacments..

I have the koni/sportline combo. Love them, they are great for crusin around town and when you want to tear up the twisties they are even better. As for weilding the rears, they don't have to be. All that has to be done is gettting them cut out so that you can put the koni's in.

You do not weld anything when installing the Konis. I'm not sure where this misconception comes from, anyone know? This post has been edited by S_C_M: May 24, 2004 - 5:59 PM |
