I was at the speed shop today getting my stock exhaust replaced with a new tenzo. I wanted to have the cat back replaced as well, but figured thats all I could do because I hear so much talk about not being able to find headers for the 94 Gt with a 5SFE engine. The guys at the counter did'nt find any headers either and thought that was wierd.

So anyways, they went to put the stuff on and found out that the cat and the header is one piece and he could'nt replace the cat. The service guy did say that he knows a company that makes headers for this car though. He is checking with his contact at the company to see if he has any or he needs to order them. So then I can get the headers and hi-flow cat to finish off the exhaust.

I just thought I'd say something, because everyone seems to be looking for something. I'll let you know when I hear back from the guy. I don't know the name of the company, its japanese and something like Fuji-something.

PS. I'll throw up some pictures soon.

I thought that a little funny too, maybe I misunderstood what he meant. I have'nt had a chance to put it up and look for myself. If anyone has a pic of the bottom side of a 6gc showing the cat, I'd love to see it.

I also thought it would be wierd that he would lie about it and turn down me purchasing the cat if he could do it.

but I was going to already buy the cat, they had to call me to tell me they could'nt do it. I tried to get a header, but at first they did'nt think there was one that would fit till they talked to the guy who actually did the install.

I don't know, I agree though, something definately sounds off. Thats why I thought the experts here who may have done this before might have some insight if I posted what happened.

Anyways, they did a good job with the muffler and pipes so far. I'm already turnin heads... of course they were cops. One day on, and already had a cop do a u-turn and blow my radar detector up.

there is two cats on our cars actually (GT anyways). One slightly built into the factory headers, one put where they are normally built. It was a good design for american emissions, but performance wise BLAA. That's why i'm making my headers. And no, i doubt this guy has true headers for the 5s-fe, at least a company that took the time to make them. But hey, i'm all ears, tell us what's up.

why not just go to a machine shop and get some header created for your car. i know of a shop in San Diego that can make you a header. sure it wont pass smog and itll be loud as hell but itll be a good performance upgrade smile.gif
