I'm looking for a CAI for my 97 GT. I have been searching for someone to make them so far without success.
So is anyone making CAI for GT? I'm planning on making one myself if no one can make one for me. Does anyone have a good design I can use? I've compared the engine compartment space between ST and GT and theres not that much difference. Only thing is that GT have the cruise control box. Pipes can go around the box and then down. Pipes just have to be bent in a different way than the ST but take the same route. Anyone know the problem with this theory? And can I use hose instead of pipes? |

nobody makes one, but it wouldn't be that hard to do. i actually made one a while back, but i took it off because the short-ram sounds better. all i did was take off the cruise control. i'm sure you won't have alot of problem making one.

I've been searching this forum on CAI for GT for awhile, there are tons of theads on the subject, but most of them are useless. All I got now is that there is no commericial maker and that everybody do they're own. Theres plenty of theories on how to make one but I have yet seen a "good" one. Seems like everyone have a different design too. So if someone can step up and post a How To then we can put all those 20 threads to rest.
Something like: "this is the best way to make a CAI for 6gc GT." If you have a GT CAI and would be kind enough to take some pictures, write a little instuction on how to make it. Provide some performance results. That'll be great. Post it in the how to section and no more CAI questions. |

I bought this off of ebay for like $20 bucks. Sounds awesome, doesn't add too much HP though. This post has been edited by Jaws4God: Jun 9, 2004 - 12:06 AM -------------------- ~Daniel~ No Longer Celica Owner.. moved on to a 03 WRX-EJ207

If you go straight down where the cruise control module is, its gonna be too hot because its too close to the exhaust manifold. You want to go through the fender and to the bumper like the stock intake... it looks like it would be tough though.
