Front Bumper Support on Bodykit Options

I recently purchased and installed a VIS Invader body kit on my '94 Celica ST. I could not fit the front end on with the front bumper beam on. Nonetheless, I had to remove the beam to put on the front end. Is there any way to put that support in with this kit? I don't particularly like not haveing that front end support.

when installing the invader front you have three options. 1) take off the suport.... stupid, since you lose all front support... 2) cut the sides of the support beam... smarter than the first, you still have front support, but modifying the rebar is illegal i believe.... and 3) make 2 tiny notches in the invader front to fit around the rebar. when you put in your turn signals, you cant even see the bar...


if noone else does by the time i get home, ill take some pics of where you need to make the notches for you...

I did option number two. It may be illegal, I don't really know. But even if it is, what are the chances of a cop pulling you over and noticing that, or a state inspector knowing that much about the rebar on your car? I say cut the car before you cut the kit, especially if you want to put in some sort of grill or screen.

Pictures would be great of both ways, just so that I can see where to notch the kit or where to cut the bar. I think I'd much prefer cutting the bar over the kit though.

well I'll be taking off the bumper again sometime soon, probably when i prime the car and stuff. I'll try to take some then for ya.

yea just take the time and shave down the inside of the bumper to fit
with the bar, thats what i did so option #3 is your best bet

ill take a pic and post it tomorrow, i promise... but seriously man, its so much easier to just cut the kit.... you only have to make a tiny tiny notch behind the turn signal.... you cant even see it unless your actually lying down looking for it... its a whole lot easier than shaving down a big block of metal....

as far as cutting the rebar goes, john would love to donate a thatpic
for you to see how thats done.... you only have to shave the sides of it down at an angle like he did.... much harder than just notching the kit....
