I'm looking at getting super white headlight bulb from an auction but the guy has the following items:

Available:
H4, 9005, 9006, 9007

(also have H1, H3, H7 but the packaging are different from the photo)

9007 - 65/55W
9006 - 80W
9005 - 100W
H4 - 100/90W
H7 - 55W
H1 - 55W
H3 - 55W

Which one does our cars use?? I opened mine and was hoping to see a label on the bulb telling me any useful info but there was nothing on it.

Please help? Thanks!

Thanks for the info on the type. RE: the wattage, I was thinking 80w was a bit high too...

Although I've never had to play around with lights, what would happen if I....say... put the 80w in and the actual specs are 55w per say?

if you use a higher wattage then recommended you can melt the headlight wires.

they have high voltage headlight harnesses for such lights. the actual connector melts, but the high voltage one is beefed up.

and yeah..9006 is low, 9005 is high.

Thought this was funny...

I called the local auto-parts store and they said H4 60/50W bulbs. I called a different branch of the same store and they said H4 60/55W.

Then I called a Toyota specific parts dealer and they said they didn't have the bulb type specs, but the wattage needs to be 51W....

I should never have asked confused.gif wink.gif tongue.gif biggrin.gif frown.gif

Hi,

With an SSIII in NZ, I've heard the ones you've mentioned, as well as 65/55 (high/low) - just to add to the confusion smile.gif

I'd say if you got 55w for the low beams and 60w or (65w) for the high beam you'd be fine.

From what I've read the best bulbs available in NZ at the moment are the Philips Blue Vision (not actually blue in colour but 4000K white bulbs) and the Philips Vision Plus (50% brighter than standard). smile.gif

I dont think H4 fits into any of the celicas. The Projectors use H1, and the high beams use the same as USDM highs.

You're right, sorry I was thinking of a completely different car for some reason rolleyes.gif .

Celica Lighting:

Low Beam: 9006 55w 12v
High Beam: 9005 65w 12v
Fog/driving lights: H3 55w 12v

I even went out and checked my car to confirm this smile.gif
