Well i knew my clutch was on its way out. with 95k miles and alot more torque to it, it wore down quick. i could never really rip through 2nd since the clutch would just spin and not grab. i figured eh its old. but now on the highway in 5th gear ill go WOT at 3k and got to 5k without accerlating. man it sucks. the smell is so nasty. im getting a new peformance clutch ASAP and installing it myself with a buddy. anyone want pictures? or sumthing?

I may be misunderstanding the Q, but....
Launching: Helps to be on flat level ground. Push clutch in, car should be in first gear. Rev to about 3-4k rpm and hold it steady. When you're ready to go, lift competely off the clutch and slam the gas at the same time. Hop hop ahoy! -------------------- NASA/SCCA RX-7....currently under the knife

Depends on how much clutch u have and how strong it is. If ur doing peel outs its going to be harder on the clutch, ur decreasing its lifespan no matter what.

...u beat a 300hp AWD from a stop or going?
The best I did with a 93 VR4 was keep up with it from 3rd and 4th and after taht the tranny ran outta room to breath and he kept going. If this was at a track tho, I wanna see proof. -------------------- |

itchey's prolly running around 200hp in 2700lb. car vs. a 3800lb. car w/ 300hp and awd, it'd be a close race & i'd prolly put my money on the vr4 but ya never know!

And if the 'Bishi isn't running well, as is often the case with a turbo Mitsubishi motor, then that number is probably lower than 300. -------------------- New Toyota project coming soon...

Yeah well its Mitsu, dont expect much. Undoubtedly my friends wasnt running a full 300 and the tranny wasnt in top shape, and i think i woulda beat him if i had a better transmission.
However, at a stop, that car launches like nothing i've seen. If its from a stop theres no way he coulda beat him its just not possible unless the other guy stalled, the car does that one thing amazingly, like rocket. -------------------- |
