ive been noticing a lot of mr2 5sfe headers on e-bay and yeah i was wondering if i could get a mr2 5sfe header and take it to a exaust place and get it bent so it dosnt hit the oil pan.

so people who not a lot more about this than me. do you think its a waste of money? if buy one take it to a shop and them tell me it cant be done.

it can't be done, our engine are set back at a degree, when the mr2 engine is completely flat. So, if you were to stick a mr2 header on the celica gt engine, the exaust port (forgot tech. name), would be staring at the ground. You can't get piping done to work with that, and hp loss would be tramendous.

I was just wondering if anyone had any more input on this. I'm interested, and I can't take the advice if just one person says no. What would be the real difference in doing this and making your own? Because those are my options. Thanks.

wow this is an old thread. but i think it can be done. technically if you figure that the mr2 header come parallel to the bottom of the oil pan it should make the oh well i made some quick pics.

the celica with its header

versus

and heres a real picture of the mr2 header so you can really see the bends.

and what a celica would look like with a mr2 header.

so you can see that you would just need to make a bend in the header after the collector opposite of the angle that the 5s in the celica sits at.

but hoperfully someone with more experiance with these headers can help me out.

the bandwidth on these pictures will probably expire soon. so if anyone else wants to host them or something awesome.

all in all it would be a much better idea to just get like a 5th gen header and make it fit.

why the heck would you DARE to try and post a bmp? as for html, I'm glad the site doesn't have it.

As for the headers, no, you can't make them fit without them being worse than the stock headers

Why do you say that? If you look at the design, it's just the downpipe that doesn't match up. The actual manifold is not affected by the engine's tilt. From what I can tell, the actual manifold is the ONLY place where modifcations can hurt performance. Even the collector can EASILY be modified so the header will work on a Celica. I'm rather surprised none of you GT guys have even tried this. It doesn't exactly require a sh!t load of ingenuity.

Enlighten me if you will... I'm curious what information you have regarding this.

anyways Bigmeanbulldog55 i still think its plausable if i still had a 6th gen i would definatly buy a mr2 header if it was less than 100 bucks.

Seriously now... if I had a GT, I would have done it already. If you just look at the design... the differences are in the collector and the downpipe. Modifying the collector and the downpipe so it can work with a Celica will not adversely affect the performance. The actual manifold doesn't get touched... Someone should really try this out. If you are local, I will personally help you out with welding and fabrication. It can't be as hard as it's made out to be...
