or you could get a 60% reductin using TWM (cough i have a TWM gb goin on) compared to TRD's messily 40% reduction.....20% less shift than TRD if you chose TWM

TWM=60%
trd=40%

the twm one is super short. so its better then the trd one if thats what you are looking for.

the trd one is great, but a bit longer and probably the correct hight a short shifter should be on our cars.

the length of the shofter dosent matter, id where the actuall ball shifting thing(dunno term) is, usually the best would be for it to have a short shift, but still be stock length...the longer the shifter, the closer it is to your hands, faster u can reach it

Yeah you are right pali I haven't seen the TWM assembly but the actual shift assembly design is important as well as stick length.

I have the TRD and have been underwhelmed. The location of the gears is a little more solid but the throws are only marginally shorter IMO. If I had to do it over, I am not sure I would do this mod.

i know your trying to do the right thing for your motor, but this is one of those times where you should just trust the guys who have had their swaps for a while and have done a ton of research into this.

has anyone put a TWM shaft in a TRD assembly...i wonder if that would do anything more than the TWM shaft in the stock assembly...

also, i LOVE my TRD...it's the perfect height, perfect throw, etc.

i, however, have had no experiences w/ the TWM, but after what this thread says, i would like to try one...
