Sprays water into your throttle body (or before depending on where you put it, i think TB is the best) and it drastically reduces intake temperatures. Its a mist so the engine wont bog down or ne thing plus it helps clean the cylinders themselves. You can also use alcohol which burns or nitrous.
WI injection systems usually come with a boost sensor or tap off a sensor and automatically are engaged at a certain boost or RPM. WI helps prevent detonation and is very effective. -------------------- |

They also did a water cooling set up on the 240 SX SCC drift car. They ran a line from the windshield washer fluid to a sprayer over the intercooler (or radiator, I forget) which worked pretty well if I remember right.

So how much would it cost to refill the bottle? Isn't water free? or do you have to get some kind so "special" water?
A N/A setup only cost around $300 (correct me if i'm wrong) and isn't water free? This post has been edited by hs2g: Sep 1, 2004 - 9:47 PM |

well im pretty sure people are starting to talk about 2 different things here. water injection being - sparying alcohol into your TB to cool your pistons, or nitrous into your throttle body to get your turbo up to speed. spraying water into your TB will break your car! and then people are talking about IC spray (inter cooler spray) where you spray water into your intercool to help it well cool. but as for the alcohol i cant see it being like regular isoperbul (spelt that wrong) alcohol that you can buy at harris teeter. -------------------- Former: 96 GT 5 speed (i/p/e) Fate- rear ended by mack truck

You can spray just water, water/alcohol mix. The water becomes a mist before it makes it to the chamber. The added o2 in the air obsorbs the heat and lowers the engine temps. It also works as a detonation retardent. If your running boost, advanced timming or have a high revving motor water injection is a good thing to have. I think you need distiled water to keep the impurities out.
Someone please correct me if Im wrong. -------------------- Member of Team 5sfTe
