Hey does anyone know if hi flow cats help anything?

its not really gonna help youll probably performance gains. but youll still pass smog. if your not worried about smog itd be way better to just gut your cat or run a test pipe. i bought a magnaflow hi flow cat. can wish i wouldnt have. i shoulda just bought a test pipe. anyways theyre jsut bigger around basically.

hmm psyko here the deal with high flow. you wont pass smog thats for sure. so make a friend and get passed. next hihg flow is much better becasue it flows through faster. when you have striaght high flow everything. its like running open header it just flows, its awesome. stock cats are very restrictive and they dont let things pass through freely. so you could gut it. but its not safe becasue then you could have flames coming out your tail pipe shifting at high revs. so get the highflow and save a bumper.

are you sure about not passing smog?

and theres no way your going to have flames coming out of 7 feet (guesstimating) of exaust piping.

tony man think of it this way. youd be lucky to see a horse on the dyno with no cat and youd be lucky to see a half a horse on the dyno with a high flow. now this gain would be a whole lot different with a turboed car.

ya thats what i was referring to, i forgot to mention i was going to put a high flow cat on a turbo'd car, thats what i was asking about but i failed to mention it frown.gif. so would it do some good on a st-t?
