How many were entered? 3rd sounds pretty good already; I guess I'm expecting there to be at least 100 cars smile.gif

Try clear turns and sidemarkers?

Clean will always beat a flashy car. Get you engine bay tidy, vaccume that carpet and armor all the dash. If you have any loose wires ziptie them all up and have gromets on the ends.

I know that around here it is really hard to place. The trick is that you have to have points for every category. The judges give you points in every category. You have exterior, interior, motor/ performance, ice, paint, graphics, and overall condition and presentaion. I will not place at any show because I have no paint, ice, or motor yet. Next year I'll have motor and ice but no paint so I will score a 0 in that category so it will really hurt. That is why you see some cars that place and you're like what the hell are they thinking but they'll probably have a little bit of everything. I was beat by a girl in the female class whos car looked like it was spray painted, the interior was fiberglass and the door wouldnt even close with the door panel on because it didnt fit right and bunch of other really bad looking things but she still scored at least a 1 in paint because she had it done and a in a few other categories that I didn't. Hope that helped a little. Good luck with the next one!

#1 thing is the detail job. its all about how good all the body gaps are, how clean and finished the paint job is, how clean and finished the interior looks, things like that turn a 3rd place car to a 1st place car wink.gif

I always like it when people keep a photo album near the car that showed the steps of how it became what it is now. That way people can get and idea of the time and effort put into it and therfor give points to someone who worked hard for them.

Just my opinion, there is not much you can do besides adding more stuff to the car (parts etc.) just a great pollish, and a smile.

I was in a high school car show last spring. It sounds cheesy and I bet you're wondering why I'm even replying to this post, but the judges were actual judges from other car shows in my area. All of them also belonged to different car clubs. The thing that impressed them most about my car, was the ability for me to tell them everything I knew about my car. Maybe that is just a given and EVERYONE already knows this, but I really think I beat out all the cars in the show mainly because I was able to answer any and every question they had to ask me.

eh... i didnt really know the roads to well my friend yell in my ear "THIS LEFT" so i cut the wheel. and it jsut had rained earlier making pebbles and dirt on the turn. so yeah just went into a ditch then kinda bounced out and drove home with the bumper hanging. if it wasnt all sandy it would have been no biggy at all which sucks. but hey i did get z3's and the c-one front and rear out of the deal. smile.gif
