hey guys.

its been a while since my celica has got into a sandwich accident.

and my rear tires have worn out prematurealy.

so i'm thinking it is frame damage.

before the accident the car has a full alighment 10-5 thousand miles ago before the accident.. and the car tracks straight.. i then got the rear axle bearing replaced. (still goes straight on highway with no hands)

now after the accident the car still tracked straight but the tires on the back have worn badly.

i'm thinking its frame damage.. the hatch doesnt line up as nicely as when i first got it.. but you really need to look at it to notice. i want to get it fixed right the first time with a frame straightening and full alighnment with fresh tires.

anyone know how much it cost for the frame shop to fix it?

just throw as much information you have at me.... (like cost.. time it takes. what they do.. ect.. any other concerns that i might want to know)

any info would be great. frown.gif

pretty much our cars dont have a normal frame of what your thinking.....just take it to a person that can help you spot it out....you might just get a salvage car and isnt even safe.

yea i know that the celicas have a unibody.. where the whole frame relys on the whole structure of the frame to get its strength.. when the metel is bent, it will no longer have the strength as the orginal design.

Right, and that kind of damage isn't repairable

thanks shid for telling me the second time that my car is not repairable.. but is there any information on this frame shop.

i personally cant confirm whether it really is frame damage or not... so its not certain.

I would say take a look in your yellow pages, and look for body shops, and then ask them who they would recomend, always try to get a place that is reomended.. ya know. I would also take some of your interior peaces out and look at what metal you can see and if its bent thats not good.

Frames can be bent back into shape, it wont be perfect but better. Also, shop around, dont just go to one place. My brother bent the frame on his MR2, he got quoted for 1200 by one shop, and 600 by another, its worthwhile to check a bunch out.

You may want to get a wheel alignment before doing this. You may very well have allignment issues after the accident even though its tracking straight. Also, cars are repaired all the time after accidents without any major safety issues. I would wait until someone who actually inspected the car told you that it was salvage before believing it.

My car had the same problem. It was rear ended before I bought it and my back tires kept wearing down prematurely and at a angle. I found out that the control arm under the car was bent and this was throwing the alignment off. Maybe this is the problem.

The shop I got my car fixed charged $700 for it (including little things) Took about a day and a half.

I would check the control are first like chosen1 said.
