Alright, people have been wanting me to start this NOW, so I am. Sorry to any who are not quite ready.
First off, we are going with ViS Racing. Secondly, we need 15 people, or more, so come-on here's the Info that came from the original post, and them some: ViS Racing -They will do $400 for 15 hatches -This Price Does NOT Include Shipping -This is a fiberglass mold w/ CF overlay --90% of all hoods/hatches are made this way, as fiberglass's density is slightly greater than Carbon fiber's -The OEM glass will transfer into the new hatch -Production will take 3-4Months after payments are received -1 Layer of CF -2 Layers of Clearcoat -Will be made completely Shaved (ie. no wiper or 3rd brake light) -shipping --Short Distance - ~$95 --US - $135-155 --Business - $125 --UK - $375-400* --Italy - ~$500* --Germany - $450-500* *These Shippings are to a local airport for pick up(decreses shipping cost) -All Prices are in USD The Bad: -There is a slight chance the hood can rattle due to a added bump in the clearcoat or lay, but it can be fixed if there is one. -The hatch will be reinforced and sturdy, but a big spoiler is not recommended. If a spoiler is installed it should either have it's force well distributed, or be reinforced. I Believe a spoiler should be fine, right on their website is a supra w/ the stock spoiler, they just do not recommend big big aluminum wings -To have everything shaved, there's a slight chance of a dip /bump there(same as if you patched holes, only their a big co.) I think this is a statement just to cover their ass. -Down Payment will be 1/2 the cost of the hatch. -The address: ViS Racing 18856 E. Like Coomer said, it would be much more expensive.
the weight difference b/t fiberglass and carbonfiber is not a great one. we could have gone with Cianci, but the people want something more affordable, and it's just as light. all places i talked to other than Cianci make their carbon fiber parts this way. Really don't know if I'm still in this. It's going to be AT LEAST a month before I can come up with the down payment, and another problems is that I'm starting to notice some noises from my car that aren't very pleasant. I won't be able to give a definite answer until I figure out what's wrong with my car and how much it's going to cost to get it fixed. If it's too outrageous, I will probably start saving up for a down payment on a Scion tC. So if you guys get the 15 before I'm ready, don't bother waiting on me.

stock glass can be transferred over, ORRRR
in the near future a GB for Lexan glass may be done. more information is pending on the glass, and ViS does not do lexan keep the questions coming, i'll edit the intial post with the answers -------------------- |

can you use the glass from the origional hatch or do you have to buy a new piece of glass. also, not too sure how auto glass works, do you just glue the glass in place and put some weather strip on it? dont really know what im talking about

the stock glass can go in, or lexan can be bought.
i am not sure about the specifics, but i personally am going to a local shop that can install glass(maybe even Toyota) and having them do it so it gets done right. as for the weather strip, im guessing the one we already have has to be glued on -------------------- |

i think the spoiler will be fine, they said it would be reinforced?
but why would it rip off, if you drill just take sum fiberglass resin and dab the edges of were you drilled to seal it and use the right mounting stuff? i'd wait to see once people got it |

this is what i posted on the GT4 Forum, UZ...
I am trying to work on the shipping cost for you guys. The company is in California, USA. I had tried calling today, but the man that I have been talking to was not in today. Combined shipping saves a lot just so you know. ie. Shipping for 1 hood to my house was $135, when i combined shipping with a friend, both hoods shipped to my house was $165...that's almost halved the cost of shipping. also, when you guys are you are interested, does that mean you are in or not? If you are in i need to add you to the list, as this is going to take off as soon as possible __________________________________________________________ For those of you too lazy to go to the other site, there's like 5 members that were very interested, so if i can get shipping down, or they can combine to save and become definates, then we only need about 1 more before i'm going to give the word to stary sending the payments. (of course i'll have to find a couple people that will be in for sure but needs time to over the 15) -------------------- |

The way they plan to ship to UK already is a local airport i believe.

i had that question myself and am asking tomorrow, since it wasn't asked i didn't think anyone cared...
personally, since there will be no wiper and such, i could care less if the stock plastics snap in...does anyone else agree, or do you guys want to be able to cover up the carbon fiber's bottom.? -------------------- |

It would be a must for me to have the underside look nice and clean.. for under a hood it wouldnt matter.. but would kinda suck to spend all the money for the hatch... then money to have a nice system in there and then have an ugly underside... Its not that big of deal cz I could make em mount there but think VIS should do it newayz

what is they clean up the underside to look very smooth and clean(almost like the plastics are already one)

Here is what i got:
-He is going to look into the spoiler being able to handle the 200lb(90kg) force of the GT4 spoiler when going 150mph, and e-mail me. -The out-of-US shipping does NOT include VAT. -Although the hatch will be made to OEM spec, there will be a need for drilling to put the plastics back in. --I imagine this should not be a great issue because if you are putting plastics on they would cover the rougher edges from being drilled. -Combined shipping quotes i am still waiting on. Here is what i need: I need to know the GT4OC's interested members information. This will be posted on their forum as well. For shipping cost estimates and more exact figures, i need a common address for the hatches to be shipped to and/or how many possibly hoods to that location. if you can PM me with your address if you were interested and outside the US, also if you see someone else near you who is interested, please try to set-up a combined shipping. I want in. As long as we will be able to at least drill holes on the underside for the plastic pieces and it will support a GT-4 wing. Just two other things that would be good to know: Will the rear defroster work after we transfer the glass? And will the washer fluid thing on the top be shaved?
