well...the past couple of days, i've noticed some vibrations, mostly on starting the car..and very hard thuds when shifting semi-roughly... so i finally got around to checking out what i thought was the problem, and it was much worse than i suspected...

if you need to know what that is..that's the rear transmission mount, by the steering rack and firewall, etc.

that mount should NOT be disconnected like that..and the tranny casing should NOT be broken like that...incase you didn't know. wink.gif.

i'm going to try to get it welded...but, if that doesn't hold, there's always the option of a 4AGE transmission w/ a new clutch. smile.gif. but that's really unnecessary. ::shrug::

yeah, i'm just gonna have them weld the entire mount to the tranny casing. hopefully i can find a shop that won't charge me an ass-load.

and i just stuck the camera down from the top, to the left of the intake manifold over on the pass. side. wink.gif. then just hoped that it was aimed right. tongue.gif.

this exact same thing happened to my friend in his mercury mystique. but he ran straight over a medain which caused it.

$250 to get it welded, fixed his problem.

it looks like the front motor mount, not the rear. at least thats were it would be on a 5sfe celica. should be cheap to weld in place.

EDIT: just noticed its an ST...damn those motors are ass backwards...lol.

$250 is a definate rip off for a less than 10min job. Tig machine, 1 maby 2 fillet rods and a few mins of welding is all that needs.
