My girlfriend says that a shop in her town will install a moonroof on your car for $200. Should I believe her, or is that kinda sketchy sounding?

I dunno...it seems like a moonroof would be a lot of work, so I'd think that it'd cost a lot more than that, but I'm not sure. I'd go to the shop and ask to see examples of moonroofs that they've added to cars, and maybe talk to a couple of their clients, and then make a decision.

see if there is a tops and trends branch near you. they specialize in convertible tops, custom moon/sun roofs, and interior stuff. i think a normal moonroof job is like 800-1000. i could see 200 if she knows someone and has a hookup, but that just might be for the install, not purchasing the parts as well.

Coomer is right. Be expecting to pay around 1,000+. Wanted a moonroof myself but changed my mind after being quoted.

if he had a sunroof, it's not glass. sunroofs are the color of the car.

Youre probably thinking about T-tops......that would be pretty cool to have done, as long as it didnt cost you an arm and a leg.

I wonder how much it would cost for a targa top, that would be sweet but I'm sure it would be 1,500 + cause I'm sure they would have to add all kinds of re-enforcements to the frame.

Anyone ever get a price quote on that??

All i hear is awful things about those - they leak - badly. I have a moonroof in my car, and i dont kno if its stock or not cuz it was in when i got the car. But it leaks so bad - may have to seal it shut.

a custom targa job will be about 5-7K to have it done right. and i wouldn't have just any body shop do it, go to one where they have done it several times. you don't want to be the first attempt.
