Coom eliminated them because of the abusive behavior of some of the users (adnason and roo to name two). Its a shame but justified IMO.

i know your trying to do the right thing for your motor, but this is one of those times where you should just trust the guys who have had their swaps for a while and have done a ton of research into this.

IMO they were pointless, if you have a question for the owner, PM them.

Didn't we have a rating system back in the day? I think it was the first few days this site was up. maybe we could see if people are mature for that again. I know we had problems with it also tho.

If you want ur car rated go to cardomain. Why does it always need to be a competition?

The point of the comments was for people to tell the owner if they liked it or not. When the site first opened we had the rating system AND the comments system. this lead to people giving bad ratings and down talking the owner which created problems in the forum also. If we did the rating system only there might not be such a problem.

I was just offering a solution more than having nothing. I really dont care for either so it doesn't matter to me any way.

I never saw a negative comment in someones profile.. only positive ones... and the rating system doesnt sound like that good of an idea, we'd be better off doing comments.

I just liked seeing people's opinions on other people's cars and i liked commenting on things i really liked in particular on a car. Oh well..

yea, there were quite a few bad comments, heh
guess you just looked inthe wrong places...

anyways, I think it might be kewl, but for the same reason that we can't have comments it wont work
edit: ment to add how someone will make it so they can keep voting, and vote 50times for 0pts...or something like that

I think it was more of a "got wiped out on the update" cause people made negative comments but it'd just get deleted from people's profiles.

When you went to peoples profiles or just viewed the members rides section it was a option for other members to "Leave a comment" About the ride. People would say things like, sweet ride, nice rims, cool car did you see mine? or even ask questions about your car. Problem was there wasn't a way to filter the words there or monitor the comments. So people would get flamed about their choice of wings or that they had chrome rims........

Is there a way we can choose to delete the comments or even choose to allow people to leave comments?

I for one had a kid try to make fun of my car by posting negative comments, and it was annoying cuz I couldnt delete them and it was just garbage cluttering up my profile. I dont miss comments.

We don't have the time to approve comments. I can hardly find time to approve the high-res photos, and still have to get to the parts and how-tos sometime soon.

What about the user approves, or the user can remove comments after they've been posted? how it's like on cardomain, etc smile.gif

We don't wanna overwork you coom.

how about if we control your own comment... ie if someone leaves you a bitter comment instead of coomer having to delete it make it where the person whos profile it is can delete it ... just my 2 cents

That's actually a really good idea. It now sits at number 23 of my things to do to the site.
