Alinement kit?, Is it really needed on a 1.5 drop Options

Puting on eibach sportlines which drop a stock celica down 1.5 inches. Do i need to worry about camber and alinement and all that stuff?

After i put the springs and struts in do i need to take it to an allinment center?

Definately get an alignment afterwards. Alot of people are running around with sportlines and no camber kits. They dont seem to have any problems.

also if i do it myself can i take out the springs on my own or will i need one of those spring compressors. I wasnt to sure about that on the how to section?

Use spring compressors, you can usually rent them for free, and it will make the install much easier and much safer (key word there.) You dont need a camber kit, but you will need to get the car aligned.

I got my spring compressor from autozone, you pay 40 bucks to rent it, and they return the money when you bring it back. there are two kinds tho, tell them you want the one to compress springs that have the strut in the middle. its 2 threaded rods with clamps at both ends

it is possible he wouldnt need an alignment, but isnt it also very possible that it could be thrown off, especially when replacing the stock spring with a shorter one?

No... it's a myth that installing lowering springs will mess up alignment. It depends on whether or not specific control arms and such need to be taken apart to remove the strut/shock/spring. In the celica's case, and almost all Macphearson struts, the strut comes out with little or no hassle, so no alignment modifications are needed...

i got a 2.5 drop with stock adjusters and it worked fine!

Your toe alignment will probably be out alittle after you install the springs. I got my car aligned after installing tein's and there wasnt much adjustment needed. See how it drives after you lower it and watch your tire wear. If you feel its not right then take it in for a alignment.

You wont need a camber kit either. Stock adjustments are plenty for most drops.

Theres no reason to do an alignment. As long as your not adjusting anything u shouldnt you'll be fine. Also you dont need a camber kit. I have been watching the ware on my car and its perfect.

Most cars you will HAVE to align after lowering. Lowering will add negative camber most of the time, which in turn will change the toe. For some reason celica's camber doesnt change much when you lower so its usually fine. On my 3000gt the camber and toe was so far off when i lowered that the car was all over the road and the tires wore very uneven.

humm, camber and alignment are umm dif. u dont need an align, and some time u need a camber, but thats norm if your doing lower then 1.5

Camber, toe, and caster are all part of a alignment.

Camber is not adjustable on the front of the celica. It is on the back though. Toe is what gets thrown out of spec when you lower the celica though. It doesnt go out much but it does some and enough to possibly cause tire wear. Just keep an eye on it.
