so guys.. just wondering if it's easy or hard to swap a beams into our regular GT or ST... i know... if you swap why not the 3sgt right??...well just wondering...and i saw someone say that there's the back top and red top... so the black top is from the Caldina or something...and the red top form SSIII right?... anyways.. if you do a red top swap would it just plug up to a GT or ST??.. or do you need new wireings.

The blacktop BEAMS 3S-GE with dual VVT-i is found in the Altezza. The redtop BEAMS 3S-GE with VVT-i only on the intake cam is found in late model sixth generation SS-II and SS-III Celicas.
The swap would not be easy. Outsider is doing the swap now, and the wiring looked like a mess. -------------------- New Toyota project coming soon...

The job will be easier if a standalone computer is used. But that may not be in your budget.

Yeah, the BEAMS motor didn't appear until 1998. The SS-II and SS-III made in '98 both had the BEAMS 3S-GE. A couple '98 SS-IIs are below. http://www.6gc.net/members/1555 http://www.6gc.net/members/1158 -------------------- New Toyota project coming soon...

LOL why would it be difficult to do
if you have the Clip, Just Swap all needed parts I guess you would have to have access to a Celica Beams clip- like I do. This post has been edited by rusiankid: Feb 16, 2005 - 8:06 PM |
