I am having some trouble making boost. I installed a different bov last week, and before that my turbo made boost very easily. Now I can hear the turbo whistling but it is showing that I am not making boost. I wonder if maybe there is a vacuum leak somewhere or what is happening. Anyone have any ideas? The bov is a megan racing bov. adjustable. Please help if you have any ideas.

Is your BOV set too loose? As in it bleeds to early?

I can't really tell. As soon as the turbo starts to make boost the whistling sound starts. I have adjusted the bov to many various positions to see if that was the case, but all end in the same result.

I've tried to rev it up and locate the sound but to no avail. It only makes this sound under boost, and when I rev my engine in neutral it only goes under vacuum pressure. I have no clue as to what is going on.

I tapped a barb fitting directly into my intake pipe about 5" off of the manifold which runs to my bov and boost gauge.

Try tightning the BOV little harder.. See if the noise decreases.. Have you tried that? Are you holding any boost at all?

I bought it new. I think that I just have an intake pipe loose somewhere. I am going to check all of them someday soon. If anyone has any other ideas of what the problem might be then let me know. Thanks.

i had a boost leak for the longest time. turns out that the screws on the front cover of my bov had gotten loose. those scews are what holds the gasket that seals when the bov closes.
