hey guys,
when you shave your door handles off, what alarm do you use? Last time I checked, people use there own popper system to control every door. I think that is kinda bother some to carry 2 remotes around, one to disarm the car alarm, and the other to open the door. SO anyone know any car alarms that allow you to pop the doors and disactivate the car alarm . |

since i installed my poppers i pretty much dont use my alarm anymore unless the car is gonna be somewhere for a long time. but othere than that theres no way to get in my car other than breaking a window so i usually dont arm it.

instead of hooking up the wires that go from the alarm to lock/unlock wires, just connect it to the poppers. or you could connect the popper wires to an auxilary function if the alarm provides it. most alarms will do what i think ur asking.

yea i know most alarms will be able to pop the doors.
Most alarms have a lock and unlock function, then a trunk pop function. so when you push unlock, both doors pop open? Isnt that bother some to have to close the passanger side door everytime you go some where by yourself. |

this is why you have an alarm and then a pop function per door, and leave the trunk key hole there and leave the emergency manual popper switch in the trunk.....
but i don't get why you couldn't just disarm b4 you pop.....? just get a system with like 3 buttons, 1 for each door and the alarm |

Dei(viper, hornet, clifford) sells a 6 channel expander, which basically adds 6 more functions. it might might work on other alarms.

why not just have alarm set to pop driver side.. and then get in and open the other door for the other person?.. shaved doors look sweet but sound like their more trouble than their worth..

I have a 2 way pager alarm and my door poper remote, the popper remote is very small so its not a problem to have both.
shaved doors are sweet but you have to do them right, and its a lot of work to get the poppers to work just right, my passenger side is still not perfect, but I'll get it (its too cold to fix it right now) -------------------- |

you can get alarms that will only unlock the drivers side. the passenger side only unlocks if you press the button twice

i have the shaved door handles with a viper850xv and it works perfect. the solenoids are ten pound. as for the lock/unlock i bypassed that within the door so that when I try to pop in they wont lock the door. also it is not good to connect your door poppers to the unlock button because your door will open every time you disarm your alarm. pm me with any questions you may have, i do installations for a living and am glad to help if I can.

And Dans_st, If you want to, you can post how you installed your door popper set up so the rest of the connubity can learn. And does anyone know how to install the DEI 6 channel expander. Right now i'm just doing some research, i dont want to jump into anything i don't know about. |

did u use the poppers on your kit prpnum?
im thinking about getting the autoloc 35lb shaved door and alarm kit off ebay. i was wondering if u used the poppers or if the solenoids alone would pop the door open. -------------------- Jared Harwell

the solenoids open it even without the poppers the poppers just push it out more like if flies open but it ends up in the same place anyways. i just have the popper on my driver side right now. so with the other one it just like slides open just enough but the poppers make it fly like half way open. and yeah i got mine off ebay. i've had them for like 3-4 months now and they work great.
