It's about time...I've been crazy busy but there's not much going on at work today so I figured I'd invest a bit of time into 6GC.

You've probably noticed the ads at the top of some of the forum pages. The little tiny ad at the top of the main site wasn't doing so well, so I placed these ads on the site to cover costs of my hosting. Hopefully they'll do the trick. wink.gif

I finally got around to authorizing some parts in the database that people had submitted. I PMed a few people and gave them more photo upload slots...if you submitted some parts and didn't get more photo upload slots, shoot me a PM and let me know and I'll give you a couple more.

Also, I finally got around to getting the location field to work on the Advanced Members' Rides Search Page.

Also back(though I don't think anyone complained about the lack of it) is the AIM screen-name field on the same page.

The members' rides page is getting to be pretty huge, so I think soon I'll setup something so that the number of results per page can be set by you guys.

Anyway, I just thought I'd let you guys know. If you have parts in the database on your car, don't forget to fill out the part information so everyone can see reviews of parts, prices, where to get them, etc. A little bit of time doing this will go a long way in helping people out. smile.gif

i know your trying to do the right thing for your motor, but this is one of those times where you should just trust the guys who have had their swaps for a while and have done a ton of research into this.

I'm still working over them with the moderators and setting up plans...but they'll come at some point. None of us have had the time to really work on a lot of stuff lately.

I like the wall paper idea, it doesn't work though. I don't really like the forum search and forum recent posts thing. These aready exist in the regualer forums. It kind of just clutters up the place, that and the adds. I understand the purpose of the adds though. Coomer, please don't take this negitively. You run a great site, I just don't like these new ideas much. Thanks for all the work you and the moderater put into it.

Oops, you guys weren't supposed to see that stuff, because it's still in development. It's funny how one character changes the entire site.

Well, we could always remove the ads on the site, but then I'd have to charge or have people donate money regularly to cover hosting costs.

I might put it back. Not too sure though. Why did you like it there so much?

Well, some people may not be aware of the forums, and this helps to inform them of them, show some example topics, and promote the search feature. wink.gif

Gotcha...don't be sorry...I was just curious. I think most people typically just go straight to the forums, but I'll probably put the forum image back in. smile.gif

Now when I try to click on a user in the forum, it doesn't take me to their "Members Rides" link like it used to. Am I missing something, or do I have to go to the main page and do a search on their name to bring them up?

For now, yes, that's what you have to do. The functionality will be back soon though. smile.gif

I have a quick suggestion - is there a way to include Hi-Res images as the # of photos. I filter mine according to who has photos and one particular case the person had no photos uploaded but did have 1 hi-res photo, so it eliminated them from being seen. Just an idea.
