Put it up and down infrequently. For example, in the summer, when I drive home from work with the top down, I dont put it up at night and will go to work the next morning with it down. Of course, I put it up when I am at work but not putting it up at night saves one up and down motion on wear.

As for condition, I have a rub spot on each side of the rear window (near the top) which is fairly common. Other than that, my top is in great shape. I usually wash it without soap.

i know your trying to do the right thing for your motor, but this is one of those times where you should just trust the guys who have had their swaps for a while and have done a ton of research into this.

I got some wierd spots on mine. I tried scrubbing them off witha nn oxy-cleaner, and some of it came off. Its like a mold, and when I bought the top, it came with them. I bought a complete top and frame off ebay, because mine was cracked.
