Hey, I was just wondering if I should go with custom 2 1/4 inch piping a good muffler and maby a high flow cat, or if i should fork out the cash for a GReddy SP2 (since they don't make the SP). I called GReddy and they said they had the SP2, but is it really worth it? I want a nice quiet sound and some performance increase, anyone have suggestions?

if you want good quaility sound and muffler made for performance (granted you need other stuff to get performance out a exhaust syst.) I would say go after the greddy

I don't have experience with the Greddy but a custom will cost a lot. If you can get the SP2 for a good price go for it, but a custom will be made specifically for the mods that you have now. The only time I recommend a custom if you have extensive mods and can really benefit from it. Think of it this way if you are planning to turbo or supercharge your car wait on a custom exhaust, the heads are to restrictive on the Celica to make a difference and thats about a grand down the drain.

custom exhaust, well what he's talking about, will cost less than the greddy cat-back syst.

yeah, it determines where it is done but your right, in Charlotte we have a lot of jackel mechanics and fabricators so custom is the best way to go here. Most of the shops here think they can charge dealership prices for Autozone parts.

here in miami we have a pretty good muffler shop that makes mandrel bent exhaust systems, and i have friens that have done work with them for a pretty good price, probably less than the SP2. I just want to make sure i dont attract too much attention from cops by having a loud ricey exhaust.

last time i called greddy they told me the SP2 would be around $600. if i can get a custom mandrel bent exhaust with nice quiet sound i think i'll just go with that. does anyone with a custom setup have any suggestions?
