I don't have a video camera, I usually just take it out from my school. but I use final cut pro for editing, pretty standard for amature editing but its powerful for what it is

Ghost, news flash, final cut has gained over 40% of the professional market I use it, and I started on old non linear editing bays. Never liked avid.
BTW hioctane, there's no such thing as a GOOD camera with night vision- its a consumer "selling point" and is not included on any semi professional-professional grade cameras. What model camera does your dad have? and it uh.. writes to DVD? Pick one or the other, a good camera (your dads) or a crappy camera with night vision. I'd take your dads. You need a good camera with a good lens to film at night- you just need to know how to work it. This post has been edited by shid: Mar 21, 2005 - 12:51 AM |

I'm wouldnt waste money on a 5000 dollar dvd camera. i have 3 dvx100's and those are some great cameras. they take beautiful picture man. and yeah final cut is taking over. avid is still more popular right now but it will be obsolete soon due to the fact that almost all colleges are using apple so not too many people will be learning avid. i use both. avid at work but i prefer fcp. shid cool to see another tv/film production guy on here. how are you involved in it? more into tv or film?
