Sup guys. I got a new shift knob for christmas and its kinda tall itself and then to add that to the shifter it kinda big. Bigger then i want it at least. I was wondering if i can just cut the metal on the shifter. The new shifter came with these inserts to make it universal. aight thanks for the advice guys peace.

you can cut the shifter if youd like. But id be hesitant to do so just in case later on i change my mind and get a different shifter that would screw right on. What you can do though is get a short shifter from trd or twm. Not only will the shifter itself be shorter in hieght, but your shift throws will also be shorter as well!

dosen't sound dumb to me.. that's like sticking an air filter on the stock tubing.. instead of buying a cold air intake.. may give you same look(sound) but not the same feel.. or desired performance.. short shifters are great... my friend got one for his car.. you can shift quicker.. and don't have to move as far.. sweet!!!

not really that expensive.. but
up to you.. just put in my two cents

I cut it at the end of the threads. I measured the height of my new one to make sure that I was far enough above the bend to fit it straigh.

I'll try and get pics up later
