My car is lower in the front than the back, its really nasty, i always felt it, but i never really looked into it... but the 3s is heaver than the original engine and the car is lower in the front than the back. Iam gonna put on my new springs and shocks and if it still the same, iam gonna cut the back springs a tiny bit...

I figured all this when i realized the headlights dont extend far enough outwards...

or you can spend the extra money for a set of coilovers like Teins or Ground Controls.

My friend is a mastertech and has done it previously, often. We're gonna install the springs and shocks, and if its still uneven, iam gonna be forced to do that, or buy sportline rear springs.

how bad is it? dont you think that having the car sit a little lower in the front would be better for traction?

The difference is probably pretty small no? I dont think this worth the trouble because most all cars are like this.

its a big difference on my car, the car is just like an 1"+ lower in the front than the back. Iam hoping the new springs would fix it, it does help traction i guess, i already re-adjusted the headlight to compensate just incase i ignore the problem and keep it uneven. Iam thinking about getting bigger tires in the front ... 225/50/17 vs 225/45/17 in the back. It felt really wierd from day of the swap...

Maybe its all in my head, but i just measured it... can someone with a stock ST celica measure the distance from the center of the wheel to the fender, it came out to be 14" on mine... wait, it has to be a stock ST with 225/45/17 tires...

Aren't most cars lower in the front anyways? I know that when most people get coilovers they usually make the front a little lower. Definitely dont cut the springs, not good for your shocks and you'll have a crappy ride. Your best solution is coil-overs, then you can make your car sit any height you would like.

by "lower your high beams" you mean you're going to aim them lower right? also, if you're going to do that, i would suggest rewiring for 9006 in the high beams as well. that way all 4 are "low beam" wattage..so then you'll be sure to not blind anyone and/or get pulled over.

also, as far as the front lower than the back, i have my car lowered w/ some GC coilovers, and they are dropped about all the way down, minus a couple turns, and the rear i think is lower than the front..unless the rear fenders are more shallow than the front, bc the top of the rear tire tread is tucked in the well, but the front is fully exposed... ::shrug:: that's of NO help at all..but w/e. smile.gif

EDIT: oh, and cutting springs...honestly, as long as you don't cut them in half, they will be fine. the only time that it gets dangerous is when you cut them so much that when they compress under load, they become shorter than the distance between the purches when the shock is fully compressed...that would make them come out of the perches, and cause some nice trauma. if you're only gonna cut them enough to drop the car an extra half-inch, there's really nothing to "worry" about. the ride may be compromised minimally, but if the visual problem is worth it to you to MAYBE feel a MINOR difference, then go for it. on the AE92 i had, i butchered the rear springs..and i never had a problem of them failing, or coming out of the perches, or anything. and i drove that car quite hard. also, the ride honestly wasn't that horrible. the rear was bouncy, but you gotta think, it was stock cut springs back there, compared to drop springs in the front...

my 2cents. smile.gif
