Has anyone here ever tried their SDS system for the 5SFE? They have a Camry w/ a 5SFE (or now '5SFZ') running w/ one of their systems, kicking butt and getting mad props w/ every test. Check their site : www.rippmods.com
If this system does fit any Celica w/ a 5SFE, and work the way it has been for their Camry.... this would be the S*@T!!! |

Yes, there is no reason why this kit wont work on our cars. The full kit is actually very complete. It comes with basically everything including a black box fuel controller. A while back someone was going to have them test fit the kit on a celi (hyperdeathkill i think) but no one ever heard of what happened to that.
The reason no one has the kit, although its a very good kit, is that it is $3750. If you want to add their headers, get an intercooler, and a custom exhaust for your new setup, your talking $5000+ for the everything. At that price, you cant get a 3sgte swap by a very reputabe shop. Most people opt for a custom turbo kit which will run roughly $1500-$2000 for a pretty complete set up. Ive actually been considering the kit. I just have to build up the money. -------------------- Its Orville's Celica, i just drive it... |

I too was contemplating the SDS kit. I've delt w/ nothing more than turbo'd rides before , but never any supercharging.

the thing that makes the SC worth more then a home made turbo kit, is that all the guess work is taken out and the piggy back ecu is already tuned correctly. so it should be a more realiable setup for the 5sfe.

that's correct. You don't need an intercooler with this setup, basically, the only thing you will need ontop of the sds system are headers to optomize the SDS exaust flow. The boost cooler sprays the air, greatly cooling it, very well made
