it does step 1(connects) and 2(verifies password) but it doesnt go to 3(starts services) it freezes on 2 and then an error window popsup saying "aim service cant be reached". i was able to log on this afternoon now its acting up!!! wat to do.

haha he ment literally, use a phone to talk instead of typeing. not sure my aim works fine try aimexpress if your program isn't working.

Try exiting the program from the bottom right then reopening it...sometimes that solves it. You could also try restarting your computer.

I had that problem... Lemme guess ur usin version 5.9? I redownloaded 5.5 and it works perfect now.
