When i first got my 94celi st i decided to push its limits and topped it at 115. Then i put in a custom cold air intake thats almost to the floor biggrin.gif. and my friend had a performance muffler sitting around so i convinced him to let me have it and had it put on wink.gif. after that i ran it again. It ran great. But it wouldnt go over 120mph!!! mad.gif
after it reaches 115 it feels like i'm down shifting. and after it goes down to about 110 and starts to go up to 120 and it starts that down shift feeling again. I checked the revs and its only at 4.5 on 5th gear. Whats wrong with my engine???

By the way i have a stock 7A-FE engine.

i have hit the limiter

the car could have gone atleast 15mph faster as it was still pulling until the fuel cut(1500 more revs till redline and it was only 20 mph into 4th gear). evilspeedtoe is gonna find a way to disable it.

btw i have an auto

it depends also by the tire you've on....for sure if you've 185 you'll go faster than a 215....maybe about 15mph more!

ST's do go that fast and even faster!!!
but as far as what tires i run, I have 17" rims w/ 215 hp rating on them. I didnt think that it made a difference what size my tires were. and if your wondering they are at stock height right rite now.(i'm puting new shocks and coils after i work my a$$ off during spring break.)

Shouldn't that be the other way around ?, the larger the wheel the more
ground covered on each rotation, speedo undereads and the limiter
kicks in at a point where the car is travelling faster.....

with the limiter I don't know...in Italy the Celi don't have speed limiter.....as you say the limiter will cut at a certain point which should be in function of the tumbling of the wheel....

right on the nose

the bigger the wheel the bigger the outside diameter will be on the tire, thus more distance will be traveled per rotation and the speedo will under read the car's speed but not by too much if u go from the stock 14 on ST's to 16's. 17's will be off even more but that will also slow down the car's acceloration and im sure that no one wants that

----Well 94-95 STs can't go more than 118MPH...but that's STOCK

NOW with couple modz.....

For couple extra bucks you can go up to 147mph..... trust me, I did it.....

Injen Intake w/Heatshield
Corolla 7AFE Headers 4-2-1
Custom 2.25 Cat-Back Exhaust w/C-west Mufler
Nology Wires
Nology Sparkplugs
Venom Fuel Injectors
Venom Fuel Pump
ZEX Nitrous 65-shot "DRY"
Smart Opener/HeatMask/RPM engage module
JET programing

My car was on MustangDyno this Friday pushing out 171HP (that's about 200hp at flywheel)

The car on the 1/4th mile (1320ft) was doing anywhere between 15.0 and 15.3 depending when I engaged NOS.... yea I know that's still slow... but remember that I got over 110K on the engine plus the tranny is AUTOMATIC....

your tires have a hp (horsepower) rating? I never knew tires had hp ratings
