Im sick of people calling the celi a chick car when most cars can be called a chicks car. I believe the celi is a neutral car like most cars should be. With some exceptions. Sometimes i wanna sell my car just to stay away from being labeled.

I hate to admit it, man, but there are WAAAAY too many sorrority girls driving our car around. More than 50% of the celicas I pass are driven by chicks (nothing wrong with that), but probably half of those are old! I think it was only labeled that because it wasn't the only game in town when it came out (Supra is definitely it's big brother...). |

I believe that the entire celica line past the 3rd gen (which was FR i believe) was marketed toward female buyers with the exception of the all-trac and GT4 versions.
Most cars that are pretty and, lets face it, underpowered are targeted toward the single female market. Just like the mustang was before it got a Shelby boost. Although i have heard of this, i have never gotten a comment about my car being a chick car. On the contrary, i get a lot of 'cool car' and like tomazws said, chicks dig it! -------------------- Its Orville's Celica, i just drive it... |

If the Celica looks like chick car then that would make the Supra not far from it, I parked next to one at the store last week and on the exception of the driver compartment sitting farther back and the headlights, they look a lot alike (similar bodylines, same size). Plus the only reason the compartment sits so far forward is to help balance the weight for the GT-Four and the headlights were to set it apart from the Supra. If any car resembles a chick car it would be a Civic or Prelude.

I have never heard anybody say that about my car. I always get compliments from all my buddies about how great it looks, and most of my friends arent even really into cars that much.
And not to mention, all my girl friends love my car and try to convince me that I should give it to them....lol. Its a car for any gender, really. -------------------- 3rd gen ST205 3SGTE - Alive and boosting. |

I can see how it is a chicks car in nature, really under powered, rounded curved lines, more sporty then lets say a corolla. The 6th and 7th gens are more marketed for women we cant even deny it. I would say the first 3 gens were more for the sporty market, and the 4th gen started leaning towards women, but the GT4's were directed more towards guys, a 250hp AWD that is a world rally campion come on that almost turns me on typn'n that.
I have no problem having one at all its what I like, I dont get flammed for having a "chicks" car I get more flammed because I would rather have it then a Supra. DTE -------------------- I am a thief.

They'll all jealous. Envy is a bad thing I've had all ages of men & women come up to me in gas stations, car parks etc & say 'how nice' it is & that they 'don't see many of these cars about'. The other one is, 'what is it?' I love that one.
4 ownership is indeed a good thing. Way less common than the Scoobies & Evos in my oppinion. Richard -------------------- |

Girls car? What is a girls car? If 250+ bhp, 4wd, trick suspension and killer brakes comprise a girls car, then call me Susan. -------------------- JDM ST205
