I was in my friends celica and couldnt figure out what this is... It looks like someone wrapped a box and some fuses all in electrical tape and just stuffed it to the side. Anyone have any ideas what it is?

The pictures show my car, but i dont have an alarm ... at least i dont think so. I have remote locks for the doors but when i bought the car, they never said anything about the car having an alarm... Do u think that the box could be part of an alarm system? P.S. i posted a topic about a small red light on my dash not too long ago, and ppl said it could have been for an alarm.

you have remote door locks ? like with a remote keychain ? if so, then that is the brain for the keyless entry system - possibly alarm.

look at the sticky at the top of this forum "the car alarm instalation help thread" see if your keyless entry/alarm wires go to the door lock wires pictured in that thread. That should solve the mystery.

I believe the top two are lock and unlock and the bottom left is the starter kill possibly and the bottom right is the alarm. The starter kill and alarm are probably disconnected or removed.

Edit:

By the way, Michelangelo r0X0rz my b0X0rz.

the bottom 2 are trunk and remote start.

probably this alarm - http://www.blackwidowsecurity.com/2150.htm

my advice, buy another and replace it. Most of the work is already done (wires, connections), plug ( make sure all conections are correct) and play.

congratulations, you have an alarm.
