Hello! I am new to the forums as well as a proud 6th generation Celica owner! (ST204) I got my car just last Saturday! Well, I bought the car with 140,000 miles on it and I am just wondering if the 5sfe engine is going to go out anytime soon. The last previous owner of the car maintained the car very well. Also, if my engine was to go out, is it hard to find anew 5gse engine around here? (I live near Los Angelos California). Also, should I worry about my transmission and other parts too? I love my Celica and I plan on keeping it forever! Well, thanks for your responses!

Change the oil and filter every 3000 and the timing belt and water pump every 60k, and it will run like new forever. I bought mine with 100k on it 6 years ago, and now I'm over 250k.

My transmission stick went out at 117K miles. It was driven normal- atleast with me. So, I hold my breath on everything else..
Bought a junkyard tranny--lets see how that goes.
Engine seems ok- but burns oil...I dunno. Overall, not impressed with toyota quality yet..
