Alright, I will be coming into some money from igotta5s-feturbo soon...$300 and i have about $200 i should be getting in a paycheck next week..first i wanted to lower my car. I wanted to get the Eibach 1.5 Springs. Can someone tell me whether they are the Pro-Kit or the Sportlines? Also, is there any place on the web that you can order these springs from? Secondly, i wanted to save for shocks. After reading about what Charlie97L said in another shock topic, i've decided that the KYBs would be more forgiving for my style of driving, like he said for coustoe. Is there a place online where I can order these from?
Third, i wanted some sort of strut brace for the engine. Is the only one available the expensive one from nopi.com? Thanks for all the help later, brian |

The springs youre talking about are the Sportlines- 1.5" drop all the way around. You can get these and KYB's from tirerack.com, i think they have some of the best prices ive seen. And i havent seen the strut bar much cheaper than Nopi.....although i havent looked too much for one. BTW, im getting Tom's springs for $98 from this site.....way cheaper thank Eibach Sportlines and they drop 1.7" in the front, and 1.5" in the back. I like the idea of that aggresive stance it would give the car when i get rims.

brian, you can get everything you need (sportlines, like silver said, and shocks/struts) from ...tirerack...i'd recommend getting new kyb boots all around also, theyre only like 10ea., and its probable that 1 or more of the old boots will be torn anyway, and the kyb boots come with new bumpstops too that are built into the the boot...
hope that helps! -------------------- Former Team 5SFTE pro member ;)

So when are you getting them? I also wanted some but couldn't fid what the drop was. Do you guys think I would need new shocks with a 1.7"drop in the front? Where did you find how low the drop was? |

fallen it just depends how worn your shocks are now, i guess....i did mine figureing they were 8yrs old, and could prolly use replacing.....im not sure about the drop, tho...i would guess the drop will reduce the life of your shocks as it is...speedtoe, where are ya, man! you know all about this stuff...lol

FallenHero, i got the info from several sites by searching for information on the Tom's x'dynamic springs. They all say that its a 1.7"/1.5" drop.......i wanted to make sure too, and after doing a little research im sure that its right. ill be getting the springs the same time i get rims, which should be over the summer sometime

yup the kybs are basicly the oem replacement shocks...the konis are big $$ though and are a much more "performance" oriented shock which will give you a stiffer ride. it just depends on what your looking for, and for most of us, how much $$ you have to spend. the konis will run ya between 5-600 from what i've heard, then theres the install for the rears which involves cutting the top of the shock and welding it into the old strut housing, which will cost ya unless you know someone who can do it for you.

I thought Koni's were the full shock. It's the KYB GR-2's that are cartridges.

ok the kybs r like this: 2 rears are the whole strut...the 2 fronts are just the cartriges. the konis are cartriges for all four, thats why you have to cut & weld the rears.
see the strut is like a housing for the shock.. in the rears the two parts, shock& strut ,come as one piece. in the front though, the two parts are seperate. sorry,... i dont know the technical terms and stuff...lol im just figuring this stuff out myself...lol i just know that much about the shocks and stuff because of the research i did before doing my suspension This post has been edited by presure2: Apr 18, 2003 - 7:34 AM -------------------- Former Team 5SFTE pro member ;)
