Ok everyone here's one of my term papers... will everyone proof read it and tell me what I need to fix? Thanks. And yes I kno it's not finished.

The Problems of Communication

The most complicated problems with a lot of relationships is communication. In my case, my girlfriend lives in another town. Her name is Ashley Ponsler, she is a junior, and she lives in Rushville. Although she only lives thirty minutes away, it becomes tough to see one another. We are both very active, and only get to see each other on the weekends. We solve this problem pretty easy by cell phones though. This is where the problem arose. She has her cell phone plan with Verizon, and mine is with Cingular. She has 400 minutes a month, and free nights and weekends starting at nine o’clock. I have 800 minutes, and my free nights and weekends start seven o’clock. I wasn’t aware of this at first, and we talked a very good amount during the days. I didn’t think this was a problem, because I also have rollover minutes that I don’t use each month. The cell phone bill came in, and I saw no difference in my bill. Her cell phone bill came in, and hers was $225! Our problem now is talking as much as we do, and being on different cell phone carriers.
The first solution we came up with was not talking during the mornings before school, not talking right after school, and not having long conversations until it was free for both of us. That worked for a week or so, and then we decided that was going to be too hard. We had to come up with another solution. Not many things came to mind though, because it would be long distance to use the house phones to call each other. If communication was going to be this hard, we knew we wouldn’t last long as a couple.
The second solution was only use the internet until it wasn’t a problem for us to talk. We would get up each morning and talk on the internet, and then repeat this process very often. This didn’t please my parents, and it didn’t make her parents happy either. The fact of only communicating through the internet isn’t exactly compelling in itself. I thought for sure our relationship wouldn’t last for a long amount of time for the simple fact of bad communication opportunities.
The third option we explored was sneaking up to see each other periodically throughout the week. This didn’t exactly please me, because I was the one always driving. My parents asked why I was always gone, and I told them. They didn’t see the point in it, but they supported me in my relationship. They knew I was serious about this girl because I was willing to spend my money in gas just to see her. As far as I knew, there were no more options that were within reality.
My mother actually provided the solution that worked best. I was amazed in her thinking. My cell phone plan allows me to add another line for just $10 a month. I have to buy another phone, and update my contract. This, in theory, sounds very good. I mean, for that set price each month I can talk unlimited minutes to Ashley, and never worry about overage fees. I called Cingular, and we decided it would work out best to purchase another phone. This proved to be very cheap, I bought another $50 camera phone, and it had a $50 rebate. That made the phone free. All I had to pay was the $10 set fee each month.
This move was very helpful to our relationship, and in some ways has kept us together. I realized that trying to go behind my parents back doesn’t always work, and sometimes I will need their help. Parents can be very helpful, and even seem to understand what we’re going through. In the end, since I thought my relationship was worth the effort, it caused me to put in the extra work. Knowing what I wanted inspired me to look for every possible solution. I’m glad I did what I did, and now I can talk to Ashley whenever I want. That’s one of the greatest feelings I can have in my hectic life.

The Problems with Communication

In my opinion the most complicated problem with a lot of relationships is communication. For a personal example, my girlfriend lives in another town and her name is Ashley Ponsler. She is a junior in high school, and lives in Rushville. Although she only lives thirty minutes away, it has become hard to find time to see one another. Not many good ideas came to mind, because it would be long distance to use the house phones to call each other. We knew if communication was going to be this hard, we wouldn’t last long as a couple.
The second solution was to use the internet until it wasn’t a problem for us to communicate. We would get up each morning and chat on the internet, this didn’t please my nor my girlfriends parents. Having the ability to communicate only through the internet wasn’t helping. I thought for sure our relationship wouldn’t last for a long amount of time because of the lack of opportunities to communicate.
The third option we explored was meeting to see each other periodically throughout the week. This wasn’t a good option for me, because I was the one always driving. My parents asked why I was always gone, they didn’t see the point in it, but they supported me in my relationship. They knew I cared about this girl because I was willing to spend my money for gas just to see her.
As far as I knew, there were no more options that were possible.
My mother provided the best solution, I was surprised. My cell phone plan allows me to add another line for just $10 a month. I have to buy another phone, and update my contract but this idea sounded good. For a set price each month I could talk to Ashley for an extended period of time, and never worry about overage fees. Parents can be very helpful, and even seem to understand what we’re going through. In the end, since I thought my relationship was worth the effort, it gave me motivation to do extra work, and come up with a solution, to make staying together, a possibility. I’m glad this all happened, and now I can communicate frequently and not have to worry about consequences. That is one of the greatest feelings I have had in my hectic life.

One MAJOR word of advice is to always avoid absolutisms. And if you are talking about a past event describe things in the past tense, not in the present.

Good luck.
