ok, the other day i started having problems changing gears. it seemed like 2nd gear didnt want to engage as easily as before. and tonight all of them seemed stiff and it took more force to change gears. someone mentioned synchronizers but i dont know why all my gears would do that at once. anyone have any suggestions as to what it may be?

just got new clutch about two months ago with the new engine. i took it to this guy that worked at toyota for like 20 yrs and he said that my transmission feels strong. he said it could be that the shift linkage cables are wearing or something to do with the shift linkage. he also said that unless it has been leaking out a lot, it shouldnt be the fluid. i am dropping it off wednesday and i will keep updated. thanks, for the input guys.

It is the synchronizers alright that means its worn out already and it needs 2 be replace. I've also heard from another mechanic that you or somebody can do a little adjustment to the clutch. But definitely its the synchros Im having thesame problem right now. The synchros are not that expensive, its the labor. Or you can find a friend that has a know how on tranny that will help you install them.

it turned out to be a worn out bushing on the shift linkage. its a $20 part so this is a big relief. he said the bushing is wear the main part of the shifting goes through the shift linkage and that it wasnt tight because of the wear.
