So I currently have 16X8 rims and they are great, but when I move on to 17" or 18" I want to keep that road-hugging ability. So that leads me to ask what is the widest I can go on a 17" or 18"? thanks

search, there's a thread all about what people have managed to squeeze in there.

You'll probably stick with 8. I have 7.5s with my 18s.
