In a few days or so my friends and I are going on a camping trip that is located somewhere up a mountain. I'm concerned about what gear to be in when constantly going up a mountain. Although I have done it before but it was not on a mountain road instead just a normal street where the roads are straight.

Any tips for do's and don'ts? I'll be adding alot of weight to the car, so i'm not sure if it can handle going up or if it has enough power to do it.

-Thanks.

well, when goin down hill, keep it in second up hill, keep it in second or 3rd depending on how fast you want to go.

now i dont drive stick(still practicing) but that comes from common sense, you dont want to go fast down hill so keep it in second and you never go to fast up hill on a curvey road(unless u know the road VERY well) and 4th would probably be too high for climbing up a mountain

your car will make it just fine. I had my Celi crammed to the roof with crap, then drove 400 miles, some of it mountainous with 6% grade. Just drive where you are comfortable. If it starts to lug, shift down. Depending on what kind of road you are on I would guess you will probably be in 3rd on the corners most of the time, maybe 2nd if it is like a hairpin or something. Gotta love the twistys.

Biggest thing to watch would be your brakes. If the car will be loaded down make sure the brakes are in good condition, and have them checked after the trip. When I was delivering newspapers, I warped rotors like you wouldn't believe because of all the downhill stops with so much weight in the car.

Other than that, just remember how much stuff is in the car and don't go too fast untill it's unloaded.

aye noobone me and that one doode VIETASIAN0 were talkin online im not sure if he 100% positive but we planning to goto the this one place in the moutains in fremont off mission street the road is pretty much like inital d crap runs threw the bottom of the mountians then more down it goes up a mountian. There arnt any cops or any people cause its nothing but mountians and hills. One of the big reasons why there are no people is cause im hearing that place is haunted, Something bout a "secret sidewalk" the story about it is that there were 2 teens driving there a long time ago like 10+ years ago and they were searching for the sidewalk, well it seems those teens got into a car crash...But the thing is they say that when the emergency people found them there faces had a scared look on it like they have seen something that scared them so bad it killed them. One of the weird things is that there hair was white also. i ono there was a whole bunch of weird crap. Like about the sidewalk...ITs just this long long ass sidewalk that just come out of nowhere cause its in the middle of the forest, and nobody knows where it goes cause it extends as far as your eye can see. People say u can walk down it but the thing is that you can just fall off the side cause its a real small sidewalk. But yeah if u down i say we go find it. O yeah hella people got stabbed there by bums. LOL so we would need to bring lights and ****.
