yeah, so who rides?
i used to ride BMX back in the day, until i got a stress fracture in my back. then i got back into it, then tore everything in my ankle. i tried to get back into it after that, but everytime i jumped, my ankle would kill...it sucked, because i had some really nice bikes. i rode Mongoose for a while (before they went walmart). then i went to a Specialized T.J. Lavin Vegas dirtjumper. heavy as hell. my last bike was by far my best, which was a DK General Lee. decked out of course . so, i got older, taller, bigger. BMX bikes got a little too small for me, and i was in college, so i got a MTB to ride around campus to class and all that. after riding casually a while, i decided to get into some Urban MTB, and eventually some trail riding. my bike is nowhere near the nicest out there, but i've been upgrading it over time. i stopped riding for a while recently, as i've had other things going, but i'm gonna get back into it, because i need to have somethin to do that's not a damn car. anyway, so here's some pictures of my bike: that is a Specialized Hardrock i think...but most everything is upgraded, cept the crankset, which is coming up very very soon. anyway, who else does it? btw, if anyone has a nice set of MTB cranks w/ a bottom bracket, lemme know. i prefer black in color. . -John- -------------------- |

personally, I love backtrail BMXing. There are dirt tracks everywhere in Washington and I would go there with my Haro Backtrail X3 Pro and jump it. I loved it so much I had 10 tons of dirt dropped in my side pasture and built my own course. The best I could ever do was a 360 over a dirt table-top.. it was fun until I blew my knee out skateboarding.. oh well.. it was fun while it lasted I guess.. now I just need to give away about 6 tons of dirt...

I used to ride my BMX a lot at the local course. Then I turned sixteen and my best friend and I got lazy and into cars and stopped going. Last year at Western I rode my Haro BMX bike every day around the city(probably rode like 10-20 miles a day) to get away from the stresses of college. Now I ride only occasionally.

I ride a little bit at this local park.
Bike Park I've only done the intermediate loop and it's no joke. I went for the first time on Tuesday and got a pretty good workout. My bike is generic but it held up pretty well. Where can I find 18-speed trigger shifter and brake lever combos? I've got generic twist shifters that absolutely suck. All I can find are 21 and 24 speed shifters. |

i used to BMX, then i started skating. I notice one thing, everytime i did something, i always modify it. things ive done - 3 peice cranks, new chain, chain tensioners, aftermarket chainwheel, a whole new brake setup, and two different sets of pedals (regular and bear traps). the bear traps chipped a bone in my shin and they hurt really bad.

I used to rollerblade, built my own ramps and had a nice little skate park in my back yard. After i got tired of rollerblading i bought a GT tour2 and started BMXing. My GT Tour2 ended up getting stolen then i bought a GT Dave Volker and guess what? a couple of days ago that got stolen .

I ride a lot. This is my '04 Kona Coiler. I bought it new a little over a year ago. I replaced the 2.3 tires with 2.5's, but other than that everything is stock. These were taken back when it still had the 2.3's... and a lot less scratches.

I'm getting back into MTB after 2 years off (moved for school and only could ride my roadster due to lack of good singletrack)
My main ride is a santa cruz superlight red ano front with gray gunmetal swingarm, full xtr with the exception of the white hub up front, noleen mega air 100 fork. road bike is a santa cruz roadster, double ring 105, cf kinesis fork, cf seatpost. |

QUOTE(klr_toy @ Jun 2, 2005 - 4:26 PM) I ride a lot. This is my '04 Kona Coiler. I bought it new a little over a year ago. I replaced the 2.3 tires with 2.5's, but other than that everything is stock. These were taken back when it still had the 2.3's... and a lot less scratches. That's a nice bike. My brother had a Trek liquid but sold it last year. He only rode it four times. About 12 years ago I had 2.5's on an old Murray 10-speed. The tires make a huge difference. |
