Ok, Here's the deal: I bought my Celica a little over a month ago and the lady who owned the car before me didn't care as good of the car as she should. She must have broke off the power antenna in the car wash or something, because when I recieved the car, the stock power antenna was replaced with a cheap whip antenna that gets in the way of my car cover, and looks stupid as well. I took off my plastic hatch panels and this is what I found:

From what I could tell, there is no wiring harness for the old antenna. I am looking to get a vehicle specific power antenna but I guess it would have to be a custom install because there is no wiring harness. If I get the antenna, can I just Make a switch for it from the help article? Please let me know any other suggestions if you have any.

P.S. The stupid replacement antenna leaked and rusted the bottom part of my quarter panel, under the car. Looks like I'll be doing some FGing this next weekend.

switch is a direct replacement for the plastic rectangle thing that used to be there.

That looks so good, it's almost like OEM. I'd like to pick one of those up, Where did you get it?

got it at Ace Hardware down the street from me. this is the closest thing i found on the net:
http://www.acehardware.com/product/index.j...rentPage=family

EDIT: in the description it says it's for automotive devices, hence why it fits in place of the stock plastic piece perfectly.

You have an ST, most likely yours never had a power antenna. The stock one probably broke, mine did.

so because my stock antenna broke going through a car wash, I installed a power one. I bought one from AutoZone for about $40. I also installed a switch for lowering it when I am playing CDs and such. If you need any help let me know, it's pretty easy to install if you have some electrical knowledge.

Yeah, I may have never had a stock power antenna because there were no wires supporting it. I can tell the one I have now is definately not OEM, it's one of those $15 Universal whip antennas. I do have electrical knowledge, so it shouldn't be a problem for me to buy the antenna and wire it to a switch. I'm going to order everything I need on Monday.
