How crazy was that race? Only 6 cars actually raced after the first lap due to Michelin advising that the 14 cars it supplied tires to were unsafe for the final banked turn at the track.

So they officially started the race and at the end of the first lap 14 cars pulled into the pits as 6 cars that were running Bridgestone (thats the brand i run..and now u all know why biggrin.gif ) continued the race.

I gotta say Michael Shoemacher is a dirty racer. Well actually hes not...hes out there to win and he does what he has to do even if that means cutting off his own team mate.

Even with the warning from Michelin i think they should have started. Even tho they probably would not get to the finish at all. Because now all the Michelin teams will start the next race with a worn engine against the fresh ones of the Bridgestone teams (because of the 2 race/1000km rule or something like that ). Not that Jordan or Minardi will benefit from that. But Ferrari will i gues.

i guess they decided running on a slightly used motor would be better than having to run their backup cars since their primaries would need to be peeled off the 13th corner wall... JMO, safety isnt something to **** with, if someone says the tires im running are unsafe, i sure as hell would pull out too, sucks it happened in the US where the F1 was finally starting to become a little more popular, but i guess theres not much you can do... personally id be pissed off at michelin more than anyone else, WTF are they doing supplying tires that werent tried and tested at each of the F1 tracks. you cant blame the FIA, its tough ****, the rules are there and shouldnt be bent, and i dont blame ferrari for not allowing a chicane to be put in before turn 13, its not how the track was originally laid out for practice/qualifying. Now if ALL cars were having problems based on the fact that the turn itself was unsafe, not the tire, then there could be cause for installing something like that, but that wasnt the case.
