Damn look at that shine - Judges said my car wasnt clean enough on the exterior..hmmm

Do keep in mind that I have JDM Tails coming in a week, Projector Low Beams are in and Clear High Beams in about a month along wtih the C1 lip

I know what responses I will get to change

Clear turn lenses - NO
3sgte - NO
Lower it some more - Cant do!

Im only looking for what I can do to better my car Exterior wise. Im not looking to change from the GT4 look so no other body kit will be going on the car.

Im thinking of a color change next summer but......i cant see myself not having a black car. But any color suggestions would be greatly appreciated

i really wouldnt spend anymore money on looks. thats all pretty much where it should be. only thing the car lacks is the power so that its as fast as it looks. i know you didnt want to hear that but its just the opinion i have.

we didnt even wash the car before entering the show cuz it was a crappy day in Tacoma/Seattle as usual so it was so dirty then we got in there and did our damn thing - huh coomer?! :-P

coomer was a great help but he left me to fend for myself with car guys half way thru the show

ah, def wasn't camera if it was coomer...dirty car explains it...

how about investing in a buffer to keep it lookin good?
and like manny said, not sue if bezel is the word, but the emblems that clip on the grill...
just a TRD one or something.

also, try moving the sidemarkers from near the bumper to by the doors...like they are in japan, and on the Special Editions

Molding would be something id rather not do since I put 105,000 miles on my car in the past 3 years almost to the day. So I dont think molding anythign would be a good idea since i drive so much

Awesome ideas though :-) Im starting to think im pretty much done though and it will be time to move on and focus on the engine compartment :-)

Smoke taillights (even jdm's)

Tint the windows

Ii also think clear turns and sidemakers might be reasonable

I don't especially care for your rims though.

Maybe pneumatic suspension..

Yeah the back ones are different tint than the front ones. I was a bit disappointed that the back ones actually sometimes look a bit of a mixture of black tint/green tint/mirror tint. I need to get them redone anyways...My rear window looks excellent except for when I was trying to hide from my room mate and was moving my stuff out and accidently scratched some off. I need to get it redone but that is last of my worries

but good catch ;-)

Didn't say black 'em out, just said smoke them.. maybe a layer of light tint, translucent def, just let them blend a bit. Same with sidemarkers - get/make clear ones, and smoke them a bit

Possibly RIT dye could acheive this nicely..... dont know

i dont always like all of these, but some people do so ill throw the ideas out:

roof spoiler
hood spoiler
vortex generators (finally understand how those work)
trd mud flaps
old school celica emblem ( the dragon one and/or the one in script)
shaved antenna
power fold mirrors
gt4 under-lip thing
and if you are planning on doing more shows... underbody lights

Its Orville's Celica, i just drive it...

s2k antenna, no more then 35 bucks to do and takes less than an hour.
Toyota Dragon Emblems
Paint your calipers
Clear turns and sidemarkers (or black out the sidemarkers)

and leave your windows up during a show. its gives a better overal appearance.

I'm no car show judge, but the last time I checked black wasn't the best to go with alone, try giving some chrome under the hood, or some performance mods, even if they aren't functional. I'm not dissing the color, I wish my car was black, but from a distance it hides the details of the car and to a picky judge it will exagerate the orange peel effect that comes from most factory paints. You could also wet sand it to bring a new smooth finish, but be careful since you could swirl the paint or take to much off easily.

Different Suspension/Air Ride - Lower it at car shows slammed on its nuts

Shaved - each shaved item is basicly a point, handles, rear wiper, 3rd brake light, emblems, side markers, Antenna, Lisecence plate holder molded to bumper, and so on.

Different paint, mabey not a color change but some flake or pearlesant.

Engine bay - strip it from everything you dont use(A/C, Cruise etc), powder coat, color matched hose's so on.

The GT4 look is a decent one its just not my thing, I mean the car comes stock like that so its kinda umm to stock for me. Original is key and when you just copy'n a stock look its not gonna take home much, ie: the honda boys wanting a SiR look or Type R look.

DTE
