After lots of thinking and a couple of minutes on club4ag.com and reading through the forums, I made my decision. I'm getting the gze. One of the main reasons is because of the numbers on the spec sheet. also, i didnt like the fact that theres so much debate about the actual hp ratings on the silver and blacktop 20v motors. sounds kinda shady, but w.e. i wish i could have the 3s but putting that in will be more expensive because i have an ST. so im trying to find out as much about this little engine as i can. now club4ag says the gze needs 100 octane gas. i kno they sell this in japan. the highest ive seen here at the pumps are 93. i ALWAYS use 93. now would 93 be fine for the gz? will this be bad for the engine or what? ive seen those octane boosters that raise the octane like 7 units. so that would be 100, but i dont wanna have to buy this stuff all the time. so what will be the difference from using 93 and 100 since 100 is recommended or w.e. o yea, im getting the ae101. yea FAQ, watch out! lol. thanks.

there's a guy who owns a 90 JDM MR2 Turbo locally and because those ECUs are programmed to only function properly and more efficiently with 100 octane gas, that i think it IS important that you buy and add the octane boosters everytime you fill your tank. it's exactly what he does. it's just the price you have to pay for having that sort of engine. but i'm not sure what'll happen if you don't in the long run but maybe somebody here can answer to that???

100 octane i have never read about for the gze. the car manufactures are going to make a car that has to have 100 octane when 93 is normally the highest you can have.

its 100 ron or whatever they call their gas in japan. its not the same as our octain ratin . if you use 93 now, youll be fine using that with your new motor.

also, can't you just retard the timing and run 87 if you really want to?
kind of kills the performance aspect, but saves gas $(iff 100octane is in US measure)

the way that the octane level is measured is different in japan then it is in the US, 100 octane jap gas is only a bit higher than our 93, use of octane booster should be more than enough I'd think.
