So what'd you guys think? Something about the R33 really does it for me. But all of it's aftermarket is expensive as hell and you really can't find used parts for it. The community for help would probably be smaller...so I dunno. Supra might be my go since it's such a great platform for drag racing and I am a drag whore.

R33, stupidly fast, but convert it to single turbo and get it like that R34 700hp daily driver like they posted on here b4.

So how come no one chose the z06 or MR? All of the cars are great, but just trying to get a technical discussion going.

Z06. In the end, it would be the more powerful vehicle, if less advanced in some ways.
![]() However, the soon to be released C6 Z06... just might royally own everything mentioned above. But it will cost ya. ![]() yea, I'm a corvette guy originally. ![]() |

id take the skyline r34 v-spec ! but ill settile for the r33 if i have to ..lol
rx7 = too unrealiable, and im not a rotary fan C5 Corvette Z06 = corvettes are for old guys with a mid life chrisis Supra TT = id probobably rock one of those, but its definetly a weekend kind of car. Evo8 MR = i got to check this car out at a car show....it just feels soo cheaply made. id take a normal evo over the mr realistically i kind of have my heart set on an STI, blue with gold bbs rims. Personally, I have never been one to wet myself over a Skyline. 'Nuff said.
The RX7, its f-ing bad ass and all, but its too rich for my blood. If its free, this would be my number 3 pick though. The Evo is nice I guess, but Mitsus aren't my thing. Too many horror stories. The sedan is a nice feature and makes it more of a daily driver than the others... Especially if you have friends that ride with you a lot. The Corvette is an American classic, and props to it. Wouldn't mind one, but they seem to be more common than any of the others on here. The Supra TT is my pick of the litter. Numero Uno. Its perfect in every single aspect, in my oppinion. It might not be the fastest, or handle the best, or look the best, but its got my heart. Another option that I don't think many people would pick would be the Cadillac CTS-V. I worked at a Caddy dealership and I took a few of them (5 to be exact) out and beat the mess out of them. Its the perfect combonation of luxury and performance, while still having the sedan family value. I love everything about the car. In my dream life, I would have a CTS-V and a Supra... and a POS 'rolla, just to be versatile. lol. I'd also like to throw the IS300 into the mix. Its in about the same price range, depending. The CTS-V is about $53,000 give or take... We had a nice used one for $38K. How aboot a used Porsche 911 Turbo? lol -------------------- 1987 Celica ST (RIP) 1st car too

ha, I laugh when people try and associate new Cadilac's as a true luxury car... No serious luxury carwith true presige has a new rebate offer every other month. The arrival of the Audi RS4 will be the the end of the CTS-V's 'dominance" in the market...

Viper? That is up there in price. As far as the V being knocked down by the Audi ABC123, I don't care. I love the V. Period. Yeah, owning a CTS and bragging about it like it was expensive is kinda dumb but they seem to be reinventing themselves, which is nice. I have never driven a 911 or any real expensive car (cept the XLR) so I can't really say much about other cars. I'm sure they have a high sticker for a reason. Yeah, best bang for the buck would prolly be a 'Vette, but I want the total package... The Supra is the shXt, plain and simple, but when I get older and knock up a playboy bunny, I want something with a backseat, balls under the hood, and luxury in the grill. For me, thats Lexus or Cadillacs. I'm not big into Audi because I haven't heard anything about them really. I know they are nice, but I don't know why. Same with Infinity. I'm not well versed yet, but I am only 19. I'll listen and watch and learn... Knowledge is power and I want to be king.
***EDIT*** As far as true luxury car, the Cadillac is far from it. They are built by us, the lazy Americans. We put out stuff that looks nice but doesn't last. Its the American way. So I think Cadillac stands in a group of not luxury, but American luxury... The difference between Caddy and Lexus is longevity. Also, I selected these cars bc the rx7, supra and R33 were competeing for sales in their prime and all very compareable. Since you see those 3 cars being big in the tuner scene, the z06 can be a big bang for the buck, same as the MR. Whoever said RX7's are expensive is wrong. You can get an FD for about 13k and a supra for more like 25k. You all know what I say- FD w/ an LS1. It's dominate all those guys. Might have a little trouble with the Z06 and MR in the skidpad tho. I can't wait to throw an LS1 in an FC and start hunting down Supra's. ![]() -------------------- NASA/SCCA RX-7....currently under the knife

aight wait yea sorry read that the 9 was the MR but it was that the 9 comes in the MR and so does the 8..
Mitsubishi Motors created the Lancer Evolution IX with more power, in-your-face styling, enhanced comfort and better performance to lure even the most discerning driving enthusiasts. i love all the cars above but i'll get the R33. simple reason cause it's alot more rare than the others... and another reason cause i've seen the JUN tuned 1000hp skyline R33 GTR lol... but either that or the Supra. EVO 8 MR's fast, but it's just getting tooooooo common nowadays... i see at least 2 Evo everyday.... getting sick of it lol.

ZO6 all the way. Don't get me wrong, the Skyline and Supra are outstanding machines, but give me the torque and powerband of a pushrod V8 any day. Couple that with the fact that the ZO6 can also average up to 30MPG on the highway, and for me, it's a no brainer.
The technology which went into the ZO6 is just as impressive. Hydroformed frame rails, carbon fiber bracing, transverse mounted rear leaf spring setup, it's just an incredible machine. -------------------- |

I would have to go for the Supra, it's tough because I like the Z06 and if it was the C6 I would go for it hands down, but the Supra is a great all around car, it has a modern yet classic style to it and obviously there isn't any stopping a 2JZ and the Getrag is probably the best non racing transmission ever made, even the T-56 in the Z06 can't compete with that. The RX-7 is a good choice but as others have mentioned it's unreliable, I don't care for a car that needs the motor rebuilt every 100,000 miles (unless I deem it necessary, with these cars I probably would) the R33, truthfully I don't know enough about it's characteristics, it's a good looking car but to sedan like for me. The Evo MR, mechanically it's sound, but I also drive a Lancer OZ that has an almost identical interior (with the exception of the steering wheel, seats, and shift knob)as the Evo and it is very cheap feeling.

Since I'm not seriously buying any of these cars right now and reliability wouldn't be my first concern so my choice would be the rx-7, definitely the drivers car of the bunch (minus maybe the evo) except the 7 has a timeless look to it.

I'd take a z06 please, 405HP LS1 just sounds so nice. Cars can be made fast with just a few bolt ons and some nitrous.
![]() Supra's are too played out in Florida and too many pricks drive them. I've met only a few Supra owners that were cool, the rest of the MKIVs think they are the hot ****, and now the MKIII owners are starting to think that too. Just to clear up something here. The ZO6 is NOT available as a targa top. It's only available as an FRC (Fixed Roof Coupe). It would be THE bomb as a targa top though.

simple mods can be done to a V8, and you'll see those gains as with a turbo car. To be truthful, depending on the turbo setup and the V8, you usually see better gains from a V8 then a turboed car.

Actually, there's mounds of room for improvement in the C5 ZO6. The as cast LS6 heads in that car are great as installed, but will blow your mind when fully ported (talking at peak 320+ intake and 220+ exhaust CFM) as compare to the stock LS6 head being around 260/190 IIRC. The camshaft profile is just enough to give it a 405 flywheel HP rating, and is barely in the 2-teens duration with just a little over .500 lift. Pop in a 230's Intake and 240's Exhaust duration cam with around .600 lift and a set of ported heads and suddenly you find yourself making 500 REAR WHEEL horsepower. The exhaust is pretty optimized though, very little gains have been seen with the addition of aftermarket items. The LS6 is just a more well matched set of parts than the LS1 is, but there is tons of room for improvement. Now the C6 ZO6........THAT THING is damn near perfect. The heads in that car, AS INSTALLED, flow 360intake and 240exhaust CFM at peak. That's about as good as it's gonna get there. Not to mention titanium valves for weight savings........that thing is sex realized as a motor. -------------------- |

QUOTE(Fastbird @ Jul 19, 2005 - 11:38 AM) Now the C6 ZO6........THAT THING is damn near perfect. The heads in that car, AS INSTALLED, flow 360intake and 240exhaust CFM at peak. That's about as good as it's gonna get there. Not to mention titanium valves for weight savings........that thing is sex realized as a motor. That's the quote of the month. ![]() |

The LS7 is the shizzit, but if Lingenfelter turbos that thing, that would mean for probably $130,000 you could get a 900hp Vette from the factory, insert Homer Simpson drool here > aaauuuggghhhh 900hp, lol.

QUOTE(Fastbird @ Jul 19, 2005 - 10:38 AM) Actually, there's mounds of room for improvement in the C5 ZO6. The LS6 is just a more well matched set of parts than the LS1 is, but there is tons of room for improvement. thats exactly what i said, the motor can definately make a lot more power, but it takes heads, cam, forced induction, etc. intake and exhaust wont cut it -------------------- 1994 Celica GT4 WRC Edition

A buddy of mine whom has a 03 ZO6 recently put a mild 224/220 .575 lift cam with a 112* LSA into his car and his RWHP moved from about 350/350 up to 405 RWHP and 415 RWTQ. If that's not a cheap way to horsepower I don't know what is. Now granted, he's limited in what he does from this point, meaning he can't really do more to see big gains without the heads, blower, turbo, or nitrous, but I'm just using it as an example of what a cam can do. -------------------- |

supra or RX7, the rotary powered engine is probably the easiest engine 2 work on ever, and the supra, well, its a supra, need I say more? but if i had to pick a supra i would choose one from here http://www.suprastore.com/suprasforsale.html
