Okay guys I have clearly decided to put my Celica up for sale. I just got my JDM tails installed about 3 weeks ago and just recently got a new lip kit. I am so sad but I decided to get a newer model Celica or other. I don't know I'm undecided yet of which car to get. I know for sure I'm ready to buy within three weeks since I got a great job!! I just don't know what to get yet. 7th Gen Celica's are alright but I need a newer car. Any ideas....Car shopping is horrific if it comes down to finally letting go of the old car and getting a new one that should be better.

He said he wants a NEWER car, so why would you even put a 240, CRX and a 5th gen.. really now.....

I would have to know your price range before I could start rambling off different cars that you could get. How much do you have/willing to spend?

I'm thinking of getting a 2000+ Subaru Impreza WRX for my next car.. Since the Celi is dead. Haven't decided if the regular WRX or the STi is best yet though.. The STi is basicly the same car, only with a bit higher boost to my knowledge (and that means 30-40 more horsepower, and ALOT of more taxes in Norway). They are like 12-13k$ different in price.

I'm getting a used one for sure, but I might get a WRX non STi really cheap. Just up the boost a bit and not tell anyone could save me alot of cash.

I'm a bit unsure though, about internal engine differences or suspension setup etc. Also the electronics might be different. Also, what about mods. Are STi only mods not gonna fit the non STi WRX or do they swap for example. But I'm not gonna steal the thread wink.gif

7th gen Celis are just not that good looking in my mind, so I would check out an older Evo, or an Impreza WRX. My two choices for a new car.

I dont know about Norway, but the STi here has a 2.5L 4 cylinder, and the standard WRX is a 2.0L 4 cylinder

Idk...I havent been a fan of the eclipse since the 2nd gen. The new ones are big and heavy, I prefer small and light.

Get a Tc or IS300 smile.gif Or just keep your celica because its a great car even if its not newer

The dealer here in my town state that the new 05 WRX STi have a 2.0 litre 4 cyl boxter engine with turbo. And the regular WRX have "the same engine".. Displacement wise atleast.. They have no knowledge about the inner stuff.

The 2.5 litre is to my knowledge an American thing.. Just like the 2.2 litre 5S-FE.. While we only have the 1.8 and 2.0 litre in Europe. Americans seem to have bigger displacement engines for whatever reason. That doesn't have to be a good thing though.

No....no it doesnt have to be a good thing. Especially when it comes to 6th gen celicas hehe. I would trade our 2.2L cars for your 2.0 L cars anyday....expecially that one car..ya know the one with AWD and 230+ hp wink.gif

May I be the first to recommend a Dodge SRT-4 ACR? It can hang with an M3, for $22k, stock. Add $4k and you get 350HP and more tq.

Don't get a new car!?!?! TURBO ur celi!!!! I'm going to be facing the same delima in about 8 months when I finally graduate and get a good job. I've decided I'll probably just get a hybrid daily driver, but then I'll spice up my celi with rims, turbo, new paint/body kit, spoiler, interior, etc. I might just be crazy enough to attempt to convert it to AWD and then maybe NOS!!! I'll make my celi sponsor worthy and very fast. Ohh I also wanna install a touch screen computer in my dash...... *evil laugh* biggrin.gif

OH! I have imput for the getting a 7th gen celica. I had a 94 GT celica that got totaled so I had to obviously get a new car. I wanted another 6th gen, but that wasn't happening since nobody had one local and I couldn't travel with injuries.

I must have tried driving every sports car I could find, but after about two months of searching I ended up going back to a celica. I wasn't fond of the looks of the 7th gen at first. Then I found one with the "action package" which is basically the TRD bodykit and spoiler. Looks so much better with it. Still has that fun feel to driving that I fell in love with in the 6th gen. They're really different, but somehow still keep enough similarities in the way they feel that it's nice. If you're more show than go as another person mentioned, I'd recomend looking at one with the action package for sure and forgetting the ones without.

Deff agree. My cousin has a 2000 GT, it's pretty lame, but this guy in my neighborhood has a 7th gen/action package and it makes so much of a difference. Idk how the options go on the 7G, but a GT-S/Action Package would kick ass.
