Camry Header Mod, fit for celica Options

I actually work at a toyota dealership so everyone once in a while I get an opportunity to buy cheap parts.

There was a camry that came in with a blown motor and I got the header off the old motor as it was going for scrap.

If you take off the bottom heat shield and cut where the pipe is straight below the big circle of welds you can get a muffler shop to make a bottom pipe. Do not cut into the ball as it has a baffle wall in it. After I cut it I took a dremel and smoothed out the transfer into the piping at the top. I now have a tubular header which should flow alot better than the stock. Its no aftermarket header but it is a cheap job anyone can do.

I plan to put the header on with a high flow magnaflow cat, borla muffler, and 2 1/4" piping (stainless)

I dont have the time or money to get the header set up but right now I am just putting on a Borla XS muffler

Sorry to say... but a 130/135hp header is still gonna be a 130/135hp header... Sure the camry one may "look" better...

its not going to do wonders but I got it for free.

If you look at the piping it comes straight out and has a tubular design instead of a solid cast piece that curves right down into the cat.

A fifth-gen Celica had the manifold from a 98 Camry installed -- I'm thinking going from a log manifold to a tubular 4-1 has to help a little, plus the owner reported the Camry manifold weighed about 35 lbs less.

what year header? cause i purchased a 1994 toyota carmy header and it did nmot fit the mounting bolts bolted right up but the downpie ran right into the motor mount.

couldnt tell you what year but i think all the 5sfe had the same mounting bolts. You have to cut the falange and a couple of inches to fit

The aftermarket headers for 5SFE Camrys don't fit, precisely because of the motor mount issue. The stock Camry manifold does, at least the one from a 1998, as long as you alter the front pipe to mate. BTW, the 98 Camry manifold I've seen mounted on a 5SFE came with a cat right underneath it, acting as the collector pipe.
